I've made my thoughts clear many times on Adidas shirts. Good quality shirts, I'll give them that, but awful designs for home shirts, away shirts better but we don't have a away colour as such so they can do what they like - to a degree. They are incapable of producing a "Blades" home shirt in my view. When you say a drop off from this season, the home shirt we've currently got is just awful, awful - got to say that twice! Why? A solid red or white back (from the season before) never looks good (nor solid sleeves), and of course, as we play in stripes it isn't a Blades shirt in my view. I dread to think what the back looks like.
I've got a refund due from the Spurs game and I was gonna spend it on a new kit, but if I do it won't be the home one and I've not bought one single Adidas shirt in protest to the awful home designs, although I'm not sure they have noticed haha!
The away one's much better as a shirt, really like salmon pink, but as others have said, it's a problem producing a pink kit for either Sheffield team, I'd have thought we'd have insisted to Adidas that we shouldn't have a pink kit for that reason, but maybe once the mickey taking's gone from Wednesday fans, who, lets face it, need something to banter about as what's on and off the pitch at Hillsborough isn't very clever these days to say the least, it'll be a nice Blades shirt to have. As it stands, I may just spend the refund money on a hoodie!
When I started supporting United in 1989 we were spoilt looking back with year, after year, of decent Blades shirts by Umbro. I'm not sure we'll ever go back to that, even if we got Umbro back again, it seems the norm for striped teams to have solid areas, usually to the sleeves and arms, but I do think Adidas could at least try a little harder to produce a striped blades shirt! I'm sure it can be done!
Its frustrating when you look at the Adidas solid colour shirts for say Man U and Leicester that look brilliant, and whilst there is usually different material or variations to design in parts of the shirt you don't notice on the solid shirts.
