There’s no way he can start Sharp

In all three of the games before the international break, we’re flogging him to death and asking for trouble starting a 36 year old in so many games over what’s gonna be getting on for 6 weeks.

Obviously a lot of fans are sick of the sight of Mcburnie, but if either him or Jebbison don’t get a start in the next ten days we’ll be playing with fire and risk having to rely heavily on both of them for the rest of the season.

I’d bite the bullet and start one of them this Saturday

He can start them but doesn’t have to finish them. Didn’t look flogged when he came off last night to be fair.

I’d be more worried that Gibbs-White is getting flogged after a long-ish lay off with injury. But he’s also being managed quite well building his game time up.

As bad as McBurnie is at the moment I’d probably start him at cov though

I'd be tempted to give the lad the option but Billy will probably just say he can manage it. I think he probably can too as he is older and wiser and knows his body better than anyone. I thought we would rest him for the Millwall game (and a few others after the energy sapping game 3 days before v Blackburn when we had ten on the pitch but we didn't).

I could see sense in Billy being on the bench on Saturday, bring on after 60 mins and then start the game after. Tough decision though as he is our focal point up front.

I wouldn't like to tell Billy that he is benched TBF, he is playing like an absolute beast

Sharp will be bending the gaffers ear to start every game. Be sure of that.

Should he ??

Understand the reasons to wrap in cotton wool to an extent. Imagine a season ending injury at this stage and the impact it would have 😬!.

But, and it’s a big one, if the gaffer can’t see how inadequate the most obvious cover player is to replace him, there becomes a genuine risk we will fall short.

That’s the reality I’m afraid.

TBF he did look pretty exhausted when he came off. Understandably so.

Yeah, rotation not ideal, but necessary. Jebbo for me.

If we want to not win, starting McBurnie is a good idea.

Would rather start Sharp and take him off after 60 mins if we have to.

MGW & Ndyai with Billy on the bench ready for 60 mins if needed
I’d also use Jebbison ahead of McB
It’s the only way he’ll improve & he’s more mobile than McB

hes kept his fitness at very high levels
And even I questioned his effectiveness early season but every goal he scores urges him on to even better levels of energy
His experience has become the main factor, he runs when neccesary and not like a headless chicken which allows him not to falter

Sharp has to start everytime. The more time McBurnie spends on the pitch the more chance we have of dropping points. Because McBurnie is shite.

I’m only on about resting him for one game btw, maybe Blackpool next Tuesday would be better. I’ll qualify this view by saying I’m thoroughly confident we’ll make the play offs no matter what, so playing him in too many games is needlessly risking losing Sharp for the play offs.

Don’t think any fan can be blamed for worrying about injuries with the way this season (and let’s be right, the last two years) has gone

Would rather start Sharp, take him off after 60 mins and play with 10 men for the remainder of the game than bring McBurnie on. Not only is McB the worst player I've ever seen in the red and white - and I'm old enough to remember Steve Faulkner and Chris Guthrie - but he's a bloody liability. Cost us 2 points against Forest thanks to his stupidity in the corner and possibly cost us a goal last night by legging MGW up. Sorry, I know this is a thread about Billy. Starts every time for me at the moment.

The only reasons not to start with Billy are if he's injured, or if there's a better option.

He isn't, and there isn't. You don't leave your best goal scorer on the bench unless you're unhinged.
You’ll have someone along shortly to tell say yeh but what if he gets injured, we have to rest players blah blah blah

Play him every game.
