Again the board are coming in for criticism regarding wages but hasn't it been reported on here that it is Wilder who wont change the wage structure because of stability in the dressing room?

Boxer that may well be true and if so,given he's already said he's happy with the budget, it increases the pressure on CW to deliver results on the pitch.

Out of the two I'd like to see Hogan personally
If we get the Hogan from his Brentford days you’ve got a 10 million pound player. We play more like Brentford than Villa so there is every chance

Say, for example, our top wage for first team players is £12 pw and that all the first team are on this wage. If you increased out top wage to £20k it would cost us £4.5 million. And that's before signing one player.

Which players have gone to other clubs on this basis?
Over the course of the next few months and season we’ll see.

Villa need players out, they can’t even afford free transfers.
Wednesday have had to sell Jack Hunt and Rhodes to stay clear.

There will be plenty more to come as apparently there are 6 clubs with an embargo in the championship if you believe rumours.

Why continue pretending to be a Blades fan?? It's not like you are convincing,

Bullshit
What you are basically saying is Wilder is never going to manage a player above League One wages standard

I'll say it again......Bullshit

You don’t put them ALL on that much. Just the ones deserving of it.

JOC, Fleck.

Bring Duffy, Bash up to around 16.

Tell Coutts if he picks up where he left off he can have 20. Same goes for Clarke.

Yeah but no but, but, it's all McCabes fault....

Clarke wants to move to Villa. Billy is going to the MLS. Stevens and Baldock feel they give more to the team than Basham.

Whatever
Sheffield United have had your pants down again but you're just too stupid or too blind to see it

They promised to increase the budget to make us competitive and then they sell Brooks
And the selling will continue in January mark my words, as the two fuckwits in charge continue their small time bullshit

3 weeks to go before the start of the season and we are considerably weaker than the team that had a weak finish to last season

Our older players are one year older and our young star has seen the future and fucked off

Now people are trying to tell us that Wilder won't pay the wages of better players........yeah right

How does he hope to improve the team if that's true ?

The truth is it's not true and Wilder will be on the lookout for alternative employment very soon

So how are things at your club? Fletcher supposedly off, that's a good thing, right?, lowers the wage bill, etc.

Upping the wages is option 1, a better option is to scout in Ligue 2, Eredivisie, Danish Superliga etc. Wages in the Championship and even league one are way higher than the wages at most teams in the eredivisie, Danish Superliga etc. Just needs to be more creative.
But that's one of the battles that McCabe has won against the Prince.....keeping the team British and Irish centric and dismissing the Princes desire to start European scouting.
Kev seemed quite proud of that when he announced it.

If we get Evans from his Norwich days we've already got a £10 million player.
It's all about the 'ifs'.

You do realise this has all been said before? Numerous times. It's just the odd different quote that's changed. You're entitled to an opinion of course but please understand you're adding absolutely nothing new to the debate. Just boring everyone with repetitive rubbish backed up with nothing other than your own claims of "truth" when it's an opinion. You're no soothsayer or sage, not even a wise old owl! There really is "nothing to see" in your posts.

Calling posters stupid or blind shows you don't seem to be aware of any of that.

He’s not the only one. It’s fucking Groundhog Day every day, only a brief day or two of rationality when we signed Henderson, then the same old tropes. Will subside again when we get another in.

Fucking transfer windows are horrendous.

Quite possibly ST, but repetition helps eases some of my shoulder tension. :)

I'm becoming increasingly livid at the situation to be honest. I'm perhaps one of a small group of supporters whose piss itches due to the fact that we aren't an established premier league side. I see it as a thing a f'ing shame. That's my benchmark. I'll grudgingly accept being in the championship, only due to the pain & anguish caused by a catastrophic 5 yrs in League 1, a few more of which would've probably ended the club.

We are now basically faced with a situation whereby we can't afford to bring in players of suitable quality on full time deals, so we're loaning them, and if the truth be told we can't even afford that fully, because the deals seem to hinge on the player's club paying well over 1/2 the players salary whilst on loan.

We have 3 contracted keepers on the books, two of whom we don't seem to think are good enough for the championship, but if rumours are to be believed other championship clubs do. They'll probably leave soon leaving a loanee and a lad that doesn't need to shave every day as no. 2. We saw how quickly we can strip away the confidence of a young keeper, but hey, not only shall we repeat it, we'll have two of 'em to ruin. If the contracted two go, we'll need to buy a keeper as cover, but we can't afford to buy reserve championship quality, but we're letting 2 go. Where is the fucking sense in that? We had a decent lad in on loan last year, who after drastically improving and getting to know the place and his back four, we've not retained the services of, for whatever reason, probably money. Leeds United appear to have stepped in, because after the shit show of their keeper last season, they see the value of someone competent between the sticks. We've now basically got 2 untried 21 yr olds, one of whom isn't ours and I suspect is subject to a recall.

We've got a strike force which, whilst doing the business last season, are another year older and approaching the end of their careers. So the answer is a loan again. All this is doing is kicking the can down the road for another 12 months, in a rising market. What is our long term strategy as a club? Or haven't we got one; choosing to exist on a month to month basis? Do we think that we'll be any better placed to buy a goal keeper or striker of sufficient quality next year or do we intend to loan players in from here on in? How the fucking hell do teams like barnsley, burton et al survive and prosper when it seems that we have all on functioning as a professional football club. Despite us making the buying of footballers look like a semi impossible thing, forest have managed to bring in 15 new players since the season ended.

I don't know if anyone at the club reads this forum, if they do, may i please suggest that on the next meeting's agenda somebody puts 'Duffy (33 in October), Sharp (33 in February), Clarke (34 in February), Wright (33 in March) & Holmes (32 in June): Succession Planning' and please fucking discuss it & resolve it a full 12 months before it becomes a crisis, because at best we are in danger of turning into a modern day version of Porterfield's dad's army, at worst we are unintentionally reducing our 1st team to a decent 5 a-side team.

This lack of planning around the forward players worries me. Agree with the keeping situation as well. We need to sign two strikers under the age of 28 by the end of the JTW. Next season, as it stands, we'll be in a far worse position. The Duffy and Holmes will be past it and we'll have no attacking midfielders.

I'm not against loans but they need to be part of a mix. We're ok everywhere else, but attacking wise we're elderly.
