..To put up or shut up.
To show where your loyalties lie.
Yes things look dire, yes we could go down and yes life as a Blade has not in my life looked so bleak.
BUT tho the team isn't performing, the manager has been left a leaking boat with only a sieve to bail it out and a board that happily lord it eating prawn sandwiches and drinking champers while in no apparent way doing anything to support or prop up the team, manager or club in general, at a time like this is the time TRUE blades, real bleed red, white n black blood blades should be getting behind the team and manager, pulling back into the fortress of belief in our club, as ive mentioned before, regaining our siege mentality, Them and Us.
if it 35,000 vs manure or 9,000 vs barnet we are proud blades, we are fans that other teams wish they had, win, lose or draw WE ARE BLADES!!!
we are not delusional to believe we are "massive" like some others and too big or too good to go down, life will not end if we are relegated (and i truely believe we are staying up), but saying that i think the whole club needs is belief, and that belief has to come from the supporters first, we are the ones that our boys in red and white should be playing for, and if we do nothing but deride them they in turn are human and thier belief is knocked causing a catch 22, the circle has to be broken and its up to us, the fans to break that circle.
So in closing get behind micky and the lads, back them here online, twitter and in real life, above all on the terraces no matter what, belief is the watch word, show belief and it will turn round.
We are Blades and proud of it.

What is the point of this post?

Where you at the game yesterday? From what I remember the 429 fans really got behind the team and made some noise. For the whole of the first half we outsang the Ipswich fans and the support was great. Despite being absolutely shocking and having little to cheer about we all got behind the team. It was only when we capitulated and the 2nd goal went in we lost heart. I would say that we got behind the team.

When the attendance was announced all the Ipwsich fans were takking then piss out of the blades support. I'd like to know how many of them would have made the reverse trip in the same circumstances. 30 odd quid for a bastard ticket, 6 hour plus return journey for most and we still outsung the fookers. From what I gather the support at the Lane has been good. Despite being in the bottom 3, playing awful and having the worst form (bar Scunny) 18k 9at least) United fans are turning up and supporting the team. The atmospheres have been good and fans have not got on the backs of Adams and the team.

I sang my heart out for 60 minutes yesterday and did what I could when I was there. I admit that when Kozzy and Williamson got sent off I called them cunts and said they were not fit to wear the shirt. I clapped the rabble of the pitch, as even though they were not goood enough, they tried somewhat.

In the pub after the game I moaned and groaned. I complained about Adams, Willo, Bent and the rest of the team. I admitted we were going down to the Blades fans I spoke to, had a beer with the Ipswich fans and congratuated them for being a much better team and talked about how bleak it is for us. I am a Blade and proud, but we are fucking shit and I will tell it. I am not going to shut up, when a bunch of useless overpaid wankers are taking our beautiful club down. Yes they have my backing. I'll be getting behind the team at Palace in 2 weeks, but will I come on here and moan if we lose? Abso-fucking-lutely!

Great stuff MunXy.
I for one am desperately proud to wear The Red & White.
I travel up and down the country in full support for The Blades from Norwich pretty much every week.
I'll still travel whether we stay up or go down.
I fully respect and support your rallying war-cry.

the point olle is there are "supporters" that no matter what we do, will always find fault.
no i wasnt at ipswich, but then i can cite many places ive been that you probably weren't there, i know of many games home and away where you "weren't" but still found you knew more than the people that were there, so id drop that particular line.
and your moaning achieves what exactly?
does it make the players perform better, does it make other supporters feel better about our current predicement, does it help in any fucking way at all...NO.
you have every right to bitch and moan, you pay your money, but so do i and many more and for you to put down those supporters trying to look for positives is nothing short of despicable.
ive read your posts and at times they are of a constructive even thoughtful turn, but most just seem to be how fucked we are and how you know more than everyone else for months from the comfort of your shed (btw did you ever finish it, time it took it should be about the size of the taj mahal :) )
like you i cant demand anything from other people, but i can and will speak my mind too and THAT is the point of my posts, from the heart wrongly or rightly.
so get the fuck off my back buddy and get back to constructive Criticism and leave the Blades knocking to other teams supporters.

Totally agree with everything said here. Top post and roll on next Saturday UTB.

Fook me Munxy, that got the fur up on my neck. Thats the spirit we need now, bollocks to the fair weather fans, i'll still be there screaming at em with passion right to the death, and those that dont, well we don't fookin need you, go to the pub and watch the premier pansies and cheats on sky, no doubt you will be crawling back when we return.

You misunderstand. I wasn't implying I am a bigger fan because I went to Ipwich. Not at all. I didn't think you went, because noone whp went would have come out with a rallying cry. There were no positves to take from that. Read my match report and you'll see that although I am saying we are fucked (that is my genuine opion) it is an account of what I saw at the game and includes plenty of constructive criticism.

You need to relax and not be so sensitive. If you are going to post you may get challenged. It is a forum. You should be able to defend your opinion without getting personal, insulting and swearing.

What will moaning achieving? Nothing. What will clapping at my computer do? Exactly the same. I will give my views and tell things as I see them. If we are shit I will say so. I will get behind the team whenver I am there, but I am not into blind faith. I'll back Adams and give him my support, but it does not mean I will not question him if I think he gets things wrong.

Mixed feelings on modern media communications then Grekkers?

Blind faith and optimism is the trait of the Pigs.

I'm a Blade through and through, I don't get to every match but when I do I cheer em on but only if they are prepared to run through brick walls for us.

Ignoring the facts that we're wank, most likely going to go down without a fight, wasted the best chance in years to build a successful future and sold every talented footballer on the books by just sitting there and clapping like a deluded cheerleader, shouting "unlucky Monty, get stuck in and try again" for the umpteenth time of the match is not for me.

Being a happy little sheep, leads to complacent shephards.

The team doesn't need 20,000 clappers, blindy clapping Richard Cresswell after yet another dismal performance.

What the club needs is a rocket up its arse and the past has shown that Sheffield United supporters are the best in land for letting the idiots in charge know exactly how they feel, ask Mr Robson (last seen in Bangkok).

in 1999 if the fans had sat in the stands giddily clapping THAT Kozluk cross and the mess that had developed, Adrian Heath and Mike McDonald would have destroyed us and we would be a League One/Two side to this day.

If you want to ignore the sea of shite that's drowning the club, you crack on, just don't preach it like a evangelical Christian Nut Job.

Thank you. I (until recently) felt the same way and would have been that angry, but there comes a point when you have to accept that the majority of opinion is different - and who's to say they're wrong - and you have to leave them to it.

SUFC is one man's plaything, right now he's bored of it and appears intent on trashing it so no-one else will want it when he's done either. Munxy is right in that we either suck it up or shrug our shoulders, where he's wrong in judging people on which route they choose.

While it may be McCabe's plaything, if he wanted to trash it properly he could by selling everything from the carpets up right now.

I'm sure history will judge our management since 2007 as being a shambles. But in terms of McCabe truly trashing the club, we'll only know the balance of his account when he cuts his ties.

Personally, I've no issue with him no longer bankrolling us. It's the shambolic handling of the budget reduction that upsets me. It should have been achieved inside two windows, and with cheaper young players from the lower leagues being brought in to shore up the medium term. Instead we've spent 3 years wasting money on hopeful short-termism.

worksop, you mis judge me i think or mis read me as i believe olle did, i dont advocate blindly following or applauding the truely awful play of late.
everyone is of the opinion that its the fault of this party or that party, i see it that its the whole clubs fault top to bottom, right from mc cabes abysmal handling of finances, thru the selling of decent players at the wrong times, dismantling of a side with potential to compete.you brought up the point of how we are the best at ousting board members, managers and equally players, perhaps this is what has attributed to where the club is now as stable as tap dancing on quicksand and this is the crux of my "preaching it like a evangelical Christian Nut Job".
After what we, the fans have forced thru in recent years to the verbal "attack" directed at mrs warnock n kids the day we were relegated from the prem, theres no wonder we have trouble getting board investers and decent managers, there was and has been a lt of conjecture here and else where about why we end up with the "cheap option" internal promotion etc, but has it occured to anyone, the job of blades manager is not as much of a carrot as some believe, maybe these so called "cheap options" were infact only ones stupid enough to take on a job with 20,000 people, fans who pay thier money and expect to have their say no matter what the subject up to and including insulting staffs friends and family.
im sorry if people believe im judging anyone on the way they decide to support our team, be it clapping or knocking, you pay your money that gives you the right and far be it from me to tell people they should do one or the other, all i was trying to say is a team getting nothing but stick from its "loyal supporters" im sure will play better than a team actually getting encouragement from same supporters.

the team is low, the play is sub standard, the leadership is ineffective and now it seems the fans are ready to bay for more blood, more instability.
can anyone please tell me how always slagging an already low on confidence team and a new manager plus the possibility of, as some have suggested bringing thru youth players is helping, has it occured to people these youngsters sit on the bench gagging for a game then hear the crowds n think "fuck this, first offer i get, im out this place" or better yet playing and making mistakes because of nerves then getting totalled by our oh so forgiving fans and ruining a prospective blades star of the future?
im not asking for blind faith, just faith.

MunXy

>these youngsters sit on the bench gagging for a game
who sit there and look at monty, doyle and collins and think fuck this i'll never get a game

Not to my knowledge.

Then again I don't spend my entire life worrying about what self obsessed knobbers are doing or letting sad "no life" knobbers know what the fuck I'm up to.
Hah. You've fallen into the trap. You've just told everyone what you're up to.
