Well done Blades! Getting the show on the road again.

Bournemouth here we come. A good time to start hitting form. Need to power on now and not screw it up. Well done DW. All we need is a Wednesday f**k up:)

Ah, but if Doncaster and Swindon win their games in hand, we are down to 4th :-)

Good point, but as we've found in the past, it's better to have the points in the bag instead of games I hand.

Indeed. It's much tighter this season that last. Only 4 points seperating 1st from 7th and everyone having games in hand on Bournemouth.

In fact everyone from 2nd to 7th can say "if we win our game(s) in hand, we will go top".

This week is interesting.

Donny playing mon, then tranmere v swindon on tues.

Donny then host Yeovil on sat when we go to Bournemouth.

It could really mix things up!

Tighter than a ducks butt at the moment, its anyone's title really, you just need to put a run together like the unclean did last year.

Our march looks quite tough though compared to the piss easy games we've had in Feb (apart from Bournemouth and Cov).
still 3 wins on the bounce and 2 clean sheets in a row aswell. I Hope it was a blip a few games ago UTB!

Two clean sheets on the trot. Well done George Long. Quite a few fans (including Keith Edwards) felt it was time to give him a rest. Wilson stuck with him and his faith has been rewarded.

Thought Howard had had a set back so Wilsons hands were tied - unless he had brought in a loan we can't afford

We've got a reasonable experienced back-up in Coyne. If Wilson didn't still have faith in Long, he'd have been dropped for Coyne a few weeks ago.

He had little to do today - one good save and one high take under pressure - but did them well. If, as they say, confidence is gained by the inch but lost by the mile, then I reckon he's doing OK.

i still find wilson's substitutions and flynns inclusion baffling

The subs today seemed entirely sensible and uncontroversial. Robson was knackered so swapped for Poleon with Murphy dropping wide, and Diego was thrown on for 5 mins when the game was dead. Can't think what needed to be done differently there.

As for Flynn, I've nowt to add to what's been said many times before. :)

Saw the title and I thought it was about Maguire and Robson. (although the latter did reasonable at times today).

I agree. It was good to see George take a catch under pressure.

My wife says I'm lacking in confidence.

He came a long way for that and took it off the strikers head. I thought overall he is getting stronger but I am glad the defenders have stopped trying to give him the ball back hard from all angles and decided the sideline is also their friend. At Bury on Tuesday I was having kittens for the lad because everything was hit back to him hard and on target.

Robson confirmed what I knew , hes the right blend of experience and quality we needed to balance things out , and as expected tired after an hour or so due to his lack of games, but this will improve ,this might be the best signing of the Wilson era

I don't, thought Flynn had a good game. I would have subbed Kitson as he seemed to be tiring, and we'd have only won 2-0. Nowt wrong with his decisions yesterday.

I just don't see it with Flynn. He drives me nuts - his style is everything that's wrong with us - too sideways, too backwards, no pace or althleticism.

I think Flynn gets a lot of stick due to having little option in front of him most of the time... He ends up cutting back or slowing down through necessity, not just because he fancies doing so. Hopefully the introduction of Forte/Murphy will allow him more opportunity to drive forward and play the ball into the area rather than tracking back.... In recent weeks we've definitely improved in getting the ball to the byline and playing dangerous balls across the box - i.e. Murphy for Doyle's goal at Shrewsbury & Flynn/McMahon yesterday.

I thought Flynn played well yesterday and was heavily involved in some of our best passages of play.

With a midfield containing both Robson and McDonald, Flynn is a good choice because he takes his other duties seriously and helps out when not in possession. We look very susceptible when we lose the ball in midfield and if committed often effectively lose two men with the lack of mobility/speed in Robson and McDonald.

He seems to have some fans so perhaps he's not all bad. Personally, I'd love it if we tried something different. I think that's risk free, as I don't recognise anything he brings to the team - though he is a trier.

No such thing as "risk free" when changing a winning side though...

I recognise Flynn's contribution. Robson, however, is top class at this level. If Jonno is fit next week it has to be Flynn who loses out in my view.

Given the opposition, though, DW may go 4-5-1, though I sincerely hope not. It's no coincidence that a bolder approach, and less concentration on the opposition, has seen better results. If that were the case, I would still select Murph and Forte as the wide forwards at Flynn's expense.

Either way Robbo should retain his place, at least for the first hour. :)
