The sportsman should be back open for the Doncater match on tuesday under new management.

opening at 12 bells :)

This is the best news I have received regarding SUFC for a long, long time.

Any news re Albion anyone?

What about the Matilda Tavern? The last time I walked past it there was a faeces filled condom in the doorway.

Crown never shut Pete and Sue moved out 21st June new couple took it over straight away ,remains to be seen if they can emulate Pete who was not only a top Blade but a top Landlord too

Tramcar and old shopfitters offices were to become a Yates prior to credit crunch but that got stalled and Albion is still shut, had some top after match sessions in Matilda on the Wards ,surprised with all that new student accommodation its not been looked at by now !

Will either the sportsman or the Cricketers be serving real ale?

Well according to their(Cricketers) Face Book page
"As you can see we have now moved and are @106 bramall lane .We are new for locals and students alike we open 7 days a week ,we have 4 kelham island hand pulls on draught and one is exclusive to the pub and is not available anywhere else in the world ,we have sky sports and serve food ,"

The lad whos got it used to be at The Hatfield at Crookes if that helps anyone

It seems to be all go round Bramall Lane for the new season.

I noticed the Sportsman had shutters taken off and it does look to be coming on well.
Cricketers, will be again a nice addition back (how come this closed?)

The Sheaf House has also had a re-furb, with a couple more TV and a projector screen for the games.
Also worth noting, they've slashed all prices on drinks, pints of beer from £1.70 and lager from £1.80. Gives the competition something to really think about.
