The season is not over yet

We need 2 wins before the end of the year, to even give us a fighting chance. That leaves Jan - May to get another 30 points.

The problem is, I can't see where we are getting another point at the moment.

We can't play football anymore.

Our squad value is going down with every game, if we finish with a record low points tally who the fuck would want to buy any of our assets( and I use that term very loosely)

The only way i can see us salvaging this season is with a change of gaffer. Its a roll of the dice and i dont know who we would bring in but we have lost all of our character and hes refusing to change this dire ineffective ‘style’ of football. If we go down and this continues there is no way we are coming straight back up!

100million spent on this bunch is poor, they are all mid table championship players at best unfortunately.

🤣Despite the dreadful start, we’re only five points away from 17th.

But something needs to be done now.
We may be ''only 5 points away from 17th'' (4 more than we have managed after 12 games 🤣) but we are devoid of ideas, skill, planning, passion, belief and commitment. Every one of them is weak, drained or they seem washed out. Unfortunately i can't see Wilder turning this round next season either.

Even if we had money, we wouldn't be able to buy a win. I can't see where a clean sheet comes from, nevermind three points.

Despite the dreadful start, we’re only six points away from 17th.

But something needs to be done now.

at the rate we are going it will take us about 3 seasons and 100+ games to amass 7 points.

We’ll be lucky to score 7 goals by the end of the season

It would take a massive shift in players confidence for us to turn this season around.

Words need to be had with the players in this group because I’ve supported us pretty staunchly this season because I could see effort and the fine margins that were costing us games. Today we didn’t turn up at all we haven’t lifted ourselves after the Leicester game and that has to happen right now on that coach home not tomorrow on the training ground or in the dressing room before the next match but right now on that bus. Hard truths need to be spoken and players have to hold each other accountable.

Would normally agree the season isn’t over

bit it’s not as though we are inconsistent....we are actually consistently solid...we’re still quite tough to beat but we can’t score.
So every week we’re certainties to lose 0-1 or 1-2.

Todays was a big wake up call for me....we looked so inferior to Southampton I actually felt embarrassed.
Todays match reminded me so much of when a plucky league 2 side draws a PL away in the FA cup.

Nobody looks interested from the kick off. It’s no wonder we struggle to create anything though when we have a system that relies on width and pushing defenders forward, why don’t we do it anymore? We just smash it up to McBurnie and expect something to happen each time.

We were exceedingly poor today even allowing for the fact that Southampton are a very good team.

We have to start scoring goals. A switch to 4-3-3 might be worth a try. At the moment our full backs are having to play a conventional role as full backs which negates the effectiveness of our our system.
