This is the most important window of the clubs recent history, well, since the last one!

This one is very different though, in the sense that we really can do a mass overhaul this year, ala Charlton 2011/12, Bristol City 2014/15 - the thing is are our 'technical' board competent enough to oversee that? I'm doubtful. I'm not upset to see the club linked with Wilder, infact I'm quite enthusiastic about him as a manager, but the whole reason I wanted Adkins to stay was because I think the retained list will see us get rid of the shit simply because he couldn't afford not to - are the club now going to allow that to happen? All the 'reliable pro's' that have made mates upstairs will end up with contracts.

Wilder is going to have to come in and assess what his got, it puts us in a position yet again where we'll be playing catch up. It's not worked so well in any of the past seasons that we've done it.

The contracts run out on the 30th right? The players are already on the beach, all Chris has are the opinions of the 'football men' above him, in reality do they know fuck all? They'll just blame the manager for the season like they always do and renew the contracts of the same players who keep letting us down.

If we don't get this right we might as well get Wilder's P45 ready for next year, it's that important. We can't carry on like this.

Agreed, unfortunately the new manager will have less to work with thanks to the compensation paid to Adkins and his 3 staff.

If we're going to be so trigger happy with managers can we please stop handing them 3 year contracts

Secondly it's important that Wilder meets the players before they're back for pre season. He needs to make sure none of them come back in poor shape. It should be standard procedure for a club whether a manager's in place or not, but at this club you never know.

Thirdly, any players the club had lined up need to be put forward to him and he needs to see the reports on who we've been scouting. This is important because we need a head start in the transfer market and it would be stupid to waste any information Turnbull and co have gathered.

Wilder will need some time to have a look at the squad before deciding who to keep. In the meantime the likes of Moncur, Sawyers and Payne sign for other clubs.

Probably not but he is a player who's improved recently. Adam Smith (GK) and Ricky Holmes are probably the most likely from Northampton.

Ricky Holmes would be a fantastic addition. He's scored some belters.
The thing that excites me with Wilder is he'll know who's too good for League 2.

Bit gutted Bristol have got promoted because if not Matt Taylor would have been very gettable.

Taylor will be/would've been off to the Championship regardless. If he's in L1 next season it'll be with Bristol Rovers.

I'd like to think Wilder will consider the likes of Tafazolli (who we're interested in anyway), Pierre, Nelson, McGeehan, Carey and so on.

He could sign any of those, as well as cherry pick the play off losers, all of which have some talented players.
I know he's getting on but wouldn't rule out Marc Richards, very good pro and still capable of scoring goals. Will be good as a different option to Billy and Che.
