Isn't it correct to say that all the major trophies we have ever won were won under exactly that system?
It has. I'm not sure we have.I think football might have moved on a bit from 1925.
SIRI. Big brother is still watching youThat iPhone ad with SIRI is brilliant
Fucking SIRI never works for me that well, mind - maybe you need to be in the USA on 4G service or one a fibre backbone on your super fast WiFi
SIRI. Big brother is still watching you
this is like Eurovision - the votes are in we know where we are / but, oh no that was just the jury votes / Adkins. Let's go again, still a chance for the little Belgian in the silver shorts, but Ukraine / DCL takes 12 points from the Northamptonshire public vote and wins a complimentary ride on the scary thing opposite Town Hall.
I think football might have moved on a bit from 1925.
Not if you support Barnsley.
Is that the one that finished above us and is odds on to reach a PoF at Wembley?
Can you imagine the internal torture if the Dingles gain promotion via this route one day and the Wendy do the same, the day afterords?
Fucking Wow!![]()
oh shit.
Can I just add that this "70-30" you completely made up off the top of your head.
If we are cutting the wage bill, we won't be offering Edgar what he was paid last night. I think he ll be looking for the MLS to offer him something.
You are like the grim reaper. Do you ever post any positive information, or lets just hope that you talk complete and utter bo@@ox!
It's a given the other two won't be here, but dogsh@t Flynn & Edgar would also be a disgrace.
Id have Christ out of the 3 and Im atheist.
How do you think it'd be received should we release all but Long of those out of contract?
I don't think anyone can judge the retained list in isolation. If we keep Flynn yet sign Messi, I'm certain everyone will be pleased.
The delay in the list is no doubt because some if those leaving, and the terms to get rid, will be dependant in the cost of a few deals being lined up to replace them.
UTB
Which in English is calling someone a liar ,it doesn't go down well ,so why do it ? You can make discussion and debate without it ,especially with someone who has passed info on before which has proved correct ,but who wont bother in future ,just going down the PM route as I have done before and will now do in the future.
But it's not unanimous, no?![]()
Flynn and Edgar might be bollocks to you but not to everyone has the same opinion
That's why it's a fucking forum
I am just going what Wilder finally says . He did say in a interview he can't have 20,000 of us all deciding with him or we will finish up releasing no fucker as we all see a game differently and have differing opinions on players .
Me I would release every fucker . How many stay - None.
But what do I know , fuck all , that's why I will leave it to Wilder . Bloke not as emotional as we are after such a shit season.
Yes, Teddy Davison was our first ever manager in 1932. We had won the FA Cup 4 times and the League once by then. John Nicholson was our secretary from 1899 until he got killed after being hit by a tram near the Midland station in April 1932 when he was on his way to meet the players to catch the train to Birmingham to play a match against Aston Villa. It was no surprise we lost the game by 5-0 as the players were still traumatised by John's death. George Waller was our trainer from the 1890s until 1930
There you have it then.
We don’t need a Director of Football. We need a Club Secretary.
We don’t need a manager or head coach. We need a trainer.
Sorted. Let the good times roll.
I already said 70-30 was a guesstimate based on the overall comments on the various threads on the various out of contract players. The point was that we are absolutely not unanimous. That is fact. You can check it by looking at the various threads about Flynn, McEveley, JCR etc. You’ve offered absolutely no justification for the board overruling the new manager to oust these players other than the fact you don’t want to put trust in the manager. If we cut his bollocks off like that at this stage, we might as well sack him because it’ll only go one way from there.
What was he paid last night? What did he do? Another hotel room scandal?
I don’t think Edgar would be a disgrace at all. I think he’s a very capable centre half. If he was willing to join on League 1 terms I’d be fine with him signing. It’s unlikely we’ll find 2-3 centre halves within budget who are better.
I wouldn’t keep Flynn but can understand why some might. If they were the only two kept on, I wouldn’t be thrilled but it’d be far from a disgrace.
But how much would he be on?
And would he exacerbate our drinking culture turning water into wine?
Does he do more unseen work than Dean Hammond?
I think on the whole, the mood amongst fans would be positive with a few “we should have kept (insert name). That would get said more and more through the season if we didn’t bring in a replacement of better quality.
But a much more important issue is it would undermine the manager’s position before he’s started. Presumably there will have been an agreement as to the process of deciding on player recruitment/ retention. Undermining that straight away and publicly displaying such a lack of trust in the new manager would not bode well for us at all. But if Wilder decides that all bar Long are going, I personally will be very pleased.
Indeed. Most were glad to see Doyle go. Yet many spend the season saying we missed him.
Every “ITK” poster (genuine or otherwise) get’s questioned regarding the veracity of their info being posted. It’s not just Pete by a long chalk. Many doubt ITK stuff posted which makes sense given that it is often contradictory and in some cases, contradicts publicly available information. Judging by your reaction the last couple of times people have questioned the stuff you’ve posted, you’re probably right that it’s best to keep it to yourself.
I’m surprised you still feel the need to question this. It has been explained to you quite a few times that it is absolutely, unequivocally, not unanimous.
The sense of frustration and disappointment at the team’s overall performance is probably unanimous (or very close to). But everyone has expressed opinions on which individuals can still offer something to the team, which must be released, which would are handy squad players, which ones might be good enough under the right manager etc. You’ve seen the threads and probably contributed to a few of them so pretending you don’t know it’s not unanimous is rather silly.
There you go Barney live proof that it is not unanimous just for you.
Including George Long?

I was answering LYDON's question! It doesn't mean I support the idea of not having a manager, far from it!
Not sure who was the first ever football manager. These days the football clubs ran in a similar way as cricket clubs when the committee and club captain had a big say in tactics and team selections. Every year when there were lack of modern day managers, some club had to win the FA Cup or the League title and it was us in 1898, 1899, 1902,1915 and 1925!

With all the people I quoted in that message? It'd be a bit crowded...
Yes. I believe so.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/36306723
Thought this might be of interest. It seems we're not alone on taking a long time to release the retain list. I guess the sacking has basically delayed the announcement. Someone said it has to be announced by this weekend? Is that true?
Must have received that info from his `source`,Magic STRAPPY says it's all completed and in the hands of the club to announce.
Not hard to believe. So no doubt it'll be announced in about a week when they can be arsed to type up an article.
