The released list?

All advertisments are hidden for logged in members, why not log in/register?

How is it because our board are incompetent!? Its the mangers job, you know, that manager who has been here less than a week and the one whose appointment you support...

Lets be reight, it doesn't exactly matter how long we take to announce it so long as our manager knows who he's axing and therefore which positions to go shopping for
 



What it will hopefully be (anyone who came out of the academy this season whiteman etc should be kept anyway)

Im sure if Adkins had not been sacked the retained list would have been dealt with
Then youd still have been pissed off as Adkins would still be here

The board could easily have done it. Fair enough now they're leaving it to Wilder. I'm not criticising but he's already said he knows about the squad etc. so it's interesting to think what it is that's stopping it getting announced.

You are mistaken. I'm wondering why you would give a board that you believe is incompetent the responsibility of retaining or getting rid of players no matter how bad they are rather than let Wilder do it for the sake of a few days.

Probably discussions with regard to the paying up of players contracts
Just because it hasnt been announced doesnt mean that its not been finalised and that Wilder has not made his mind up. Theres a lot goes off behnd the scenes that we dont know about

That's not what I've said though. You've got mixed up.

As I have said, it's annoying we're the last ones to announce. It's also annoying that this is because the board aren't competent enough to have done it themselves.

You seem to have taken that as me being OK with an incompetent board doing the retained list, which isn't the case. I'd obviously want a competent board doing it, but ours isn't that. Hence the annoyance.

It's like wanting to take the wife out of a Saturday but next door neighbours daughter isn't available to babysit until the following week and then finding out that Gary Glitter can do it and even though he's a dirty bastard he's available to do it.

Why on earth do you want a board to start interfering with football decisions? Would you want McCabe to be so 'competent' he started telling Wilder what the match day team should be? I suspect not. Therefore why on earth do you want him to start telling Wilder who he can and cant release?

Its a footballing decision for the manager to make and would be extremely unprofessional of us to do otherwise.
 
No way will they pay up all but four.

The following players will not be paid to leave as it would make no sense whatsoever:

Brayford, Basham, Sharp, Done, Adams, Scougall, McNulty.

Then the likes of Reed and DCL if you include them. And Long won't be released.

The candidates to be paid off are Coutts, Woolford, K Wallace, J Wallace and Freeman. And paying Coutts off would be expensive and nonsensical. Someone would take him on loan and pay part of his wages, same with Freeman.

They'd be shifting out the blindingly obvious deadwood that they ought to have been well clued up about for months.

Right, so let me get something straight here. You think the board should have released all the players and paid off ones they don't want.

How will that look to players who are left or ones that are coming in that the manager has not made the decision on these players? You've cut his bollox off before he's even started. That doesn't come across as Chris's style to me.

Also, if players are getting paid off they have to agree to it too.

The board should not ever choose a player, their record with managers should tell you that.
 
I still think there's players that have shown they are good enough in the past and with the right management could do it again. My retain list would be:

Long
Brayford
Harris
Freeman
K Wallace
Mcgahey
Coutts
Scougal
Flynn
Basham
Sharp
Done
Adams
Reed
Whiteman

Excluding loans the players that really let us down due to injury, attitude or just generally being poor players have gone or are about to ie Collins, Wallace, Higdon, mcnulty, Alcock. Others that I don't think have let us down but perhaps it's the end of the line are jcr, mceverly, Howard. Finally the only player I would probably pay off or try and find another club for would be Woolford.

If we keep many of those on your retaiin list we can look forward to even longer in the wilderness. Some shocking players on there.
