How the hell wasn't it given! Reckon swindon fans have more to complain about than us, people have selective memories when discussing the ref.

It was but we also had a nailed on one for handball ,he decided was outside the box.

Whoever he was, he's taken the award of worst referee from Trevor Kettle.

Absolutely shocking. Thankfully though, us being forced to take Higdon off before he got sent off won us the game.

The irony in all of this is Swindon's winding up of HIgdon resulted in Cloughie introducing Murphy in order to prevent HIgdon getting sent off. Murphy's two goals was their downfall.

If they had played HIgdon differently I wonder if we would've seen Jamie today and they regret their strategy now.

Possibly one of the worst ever? Absolute joke. I thought he was worse for us but not great for them either; we had some free kicks that were never free kicks.

He set the precedence for the game by pulling fouls up that were never fouls and booking players that were never bookings. He ruined the first half and his inadequacy and Swindon's gamesmanship led to the substitution of Higdon.

Luckily it didn't affect the result but had Higdon been sent off in the first half for nothingness fouls (apart from his booking), the result could have been different.

David Coote, you should never be allowed to referee a football game again.

Couldn't wait to star flashing the cards and trying to make himself the star of the show. With a bit more common sense and restraint the game wouldn't have become as niggly as it did.

Second time this season that this complete and utter clueless tool has officiated us and both times he made bloopers and looked out of his depth, the only difference is that luckily we got 3 points from this one thankfully. The other game was the JPT game against Walsall which I remember dearly as I thought we should have had two penalties in that game for fouls on Porter, don't know if anyone else agrees with me?.

Anyway hopefully we don't get him again this season, worse referee in the league.

Commenters berating him saying goal scorer was 2/3 yards off side, players and managers going mad.

He whet over to the touchline and had a word with the liner obviously explaining why he was ignoring the off side flag and then awarded the goal.

Replay on TV shows he was the only guy in the ground to see that the defender headed the ball. Had to be reshown six times from two angles to see it.

Good spot.

Bet the defender was the only person there who knew the ref was right.

Unfortunately Guys, We play in the Third Division so we get Third Tier Officials - Not only was the referee very poor,but his Linesmen ( Assistant Referees), were also poor
In the cup games with Premier League referees it stands out like a beacon yet those guys are castigated by Match of the Day every Saturday.
I also thought that someone had a word in Coote's shell like at half time or we would have probably ended up 9 v 10 - Also now these guys are using foam for free kicks why do they measure out in such short steps ? (One of our free kicks Coote counted out just 8 steps !)

Didn't Scoogs get taken out off the ball at one point as well? It wasn't quite another judo throw, more Aussie Rules I think - didn't see it, but everyone around me did.
