After yet another debacle last night, with no hint of Weir being removed from his job, has anybody else started to think the whole 'Prince' thing might just be a complete load of bollox?
IF we had investment of that magnitude, supposedly having been in discussions for months, surely we could do better than offloading a striker to fund the loan of yet another LB, one who apparently 'needs match practice'?
IF we had been in talks for months with said investor, a man who looking at his Twitter account takes a keen interest in various sports, surely at the managerial appointment stage, we would have been able to attract someone better? And in appointing Weir and watching him have one single vision of a 4-3-3/4-5-1 built around Kevin McDonald, wouldn't we have moved mountains to retain his services and more to the point, would he not have been likely to want to stay if all this was in the offing??
Investment that has a bit of weight behind it tends to come in with a flourish - and I'm not neccessarily suggesting this would have been a better option... but someone with serious clout would've brought in someone like a Sven Goran Eriksson??
Even IF he had no actual input until after the transfer window (conveniently) shut, surely he would've been playing bloody hell at McCabe by now to get shut of Weir - well before if not definitely at the point we hit the bottom of the table??
The answer to my first question will most likely attract nods to the FFP - but we could've renamed the Kop and taken some of the Prince's money to invest in the team.
I've been sceptical from the start about all this business, I'm now convinced there is very little to be excited about.
Over to you...
