The Prince...

There is definitely something not 100% right with all this at BDTBL apart from the obvious. I find some of these young signings very odd, Coady looked really good opening day and since hasn't been to clever, Bunn is another odd signing not featured at all has he gone back now? They bring another lad in from Cardiff who from all accounts is awful, Taylor doesn't look good enough either. The only signings that look ok are proven in English football and therefore Weir can't fail with them but yet has failed massively full stop.

The one thing that is the most baffling is what everyone keeps on about and that is why the hell is Weir still in a job? He has got it wrong from word go and won't change his ways, yet the board still don't step in. He comes across in interviews as not being bothered the questions have been asked and he gives all the wrong answers and still he keeps his job. Can we not afford to sack him? Although I believe the prince has invested and committed a lot of money, is he not prepared to throw money into the club other than to clear the debts that gave him 50% stake. I have never known united tolerate such a poor start and such bad management on all fronts. He has no plan b, he obviously can not spot talent, he is wasting spare wages, etc etc. The season is now as good as over teams will come to the lane for all 3 points and mostly get them instead of coming scared hoping for a point. If we are still in the bottom 4 at the end of this month we are in a relegation battle and we haven't got the manager to get us out. The biggest worry I have is teams like notts county seem to be able to find a win and we can't, Carlisle are the same as well as Gillingham. We can't afford to go down and I am convinced if Weir stays in charge we will go down.

The continued backing of Weir is mystifying but maybe McCabe is boxing clever( I know that would be a first) and backing Weir in the hope that it brings the 50/50 deal to a head.

The Prince has the resources to buy out McCabe and becomes so frustrated by McC's stance that he decides to splash the cash.

McC is happy, we are ecstatic and the Prince makes his mark by bringing in his own man-a win win win for all concerned.

Just a theory but you never know

It's an interesting theory TC10 but I honestly think the reason Weir is being backed is far more simple than that. The chief exec and both owners have championed the appointment of Weir so much since the start and have spoken so much of a long term plan that the decision would look like an embarrassing mistake if they were to sack him now. This was supposed to be the one they got right after a catalogue of shocking decisions. It's now getting to the point that they dare not sack him, but dare not keep him on at the same time.

I can only assume that they're praying he will turn it around dramatically in the next few weeks but I haven't seen enough to suggest that can happen. Part of me thinks the board are delaying the inevitable. Another part of me thinks that they would accept the slightest improvement and just staying up. Either way it flushes our season down the toilet.....and that's assuming the worst won't happen!

Basically, we're the only club in the entire world that has no income whatsover. Whenever we sign players, it's down to McCabe (or now HRH) funding it. If we sell players, we don't get anything from that. We don't even reduce the wage bill. Yep. That's how it works...
i used to make a joke (fifteen years ago) that no matter what we did and even if we sold Deano and the ground.. we would 'still' be ten million in debt.. insert 30 million and we are bang up to date
