The penalty

Nothing to do with being negative.

I just watched it back.and can't see their player/s particularly pushing/grabbing than ours.

Can you tell me honestly that's there is a clear foul on Tanganga?
We need stricter rules to stop the wrestling in the penalty box.

Bamford is having the shirt ragged off his back by mcburnie then riedewald and tanganga go down as well

I agree but we were at it as much as them. You can't just give a penalty when there are numerous players grappling from both sides. It was not a clear offence from either side. I'd argue Riedewald fouls there mam more than the other way around. Do you think it was a penalty and for which challenge?

About time we got a dodgy decision mind!

He had stopped the first corner and warned the Hull players before all that.

If the Hull players were daft enough to carry on grappling then we deserved a penalty for at least 1 of those incidents.

Saw the incident on EFL highlights last night and I wasnt sure if it was the right decision so I need another look. The ref did warn the players before the kick was taken so he must have focused on one or two challenges. It is not possible to have your eye on more than two challenges so you will have to pick one or two.

For a long time I thought the Championship division needs VAR

According to Tanganga he says the ref gave the penalty for the foul on him.

There is nothing clear on any of the challenges that shows Hull were more the aggressor than us. Both teams are it ilon at least 3 challenges. Tanganga shoves a player after they grapple. Bamford hooks himself round McBurnie and then sort of they pull each other down into the net. Riedewald appears to pull his man down from behind but then makes it look like hes been fouled by falling down. I'd be amazed if he gave it for that as some reports suggest. That is with the benefit of watching replays and slowing it down.

It's an extremely dubious penalty. The ref may have warned them but you can't give something based on what has happened before unless there is a clear offence.

Think as Silent says, there is lots going on, almost too much to see and he just guesses seeing a few bodies on the floor, based on what happened before the corner.

If there was VAR, I think they would have overturned it. I wouldnt want VAR though. Despite some bad decisions, I'd rather the spontaneity of the Champ and live with some of the poor ones.

I couldn't see anything either. We got lucky with that decision.

It's hard to see but looking at Bamford to me it looks like he's held back and thrown to the ground. Yeah Bamford is also grappling though but even so.

Ref got alot of stick from Hull manager and fans. For me still think Lundstrams 2nd is a yellow. Doesn't matter ref was in the way at first he doesn't have to lunge.

His 1st yellow though looked all like McGuinness and not Lundstram.

Also Ings may be offside if Bamford touches it. Can't tell if he does.

Definitely at least a yellow card all day long on the second, he isn’t in control and it is reckless. No touch by Bamford so Ings is onside.

The officials should go to the dressing rooms before the games start and tell the players at corners and free kicks near the penalty area.to give a warning.
For any gripping or pushing, I will give a yellow card. That could indicate sending off for any player. Take the corners in the quadrant, not outside. Any player going down, that's not a head injury, the player must go and stand for one minute on the touchline. Stop the players from going to the tech area and get on with the game
Goalkeepers acting injured, put an outfield player in goal for 30 seconds. Allow ten seconds to take a throw-in. This should help the supporters to enjoy the game.
Stop all this lazy refereeing.

Clear foul on Riedewald, clear foul on Bamford, and that's without whatever happened to Tanganga. No idea why some of you are so keen to make out we got lucky with a clear and obvious call.

Very soft penalty but given the plethora of referee shaftings weve had this season, about bloody time we got lucky

For me the game was lost when the roles and responsibilities of a captain went. The referees do go into the dressing rooms and do chat with the captains about expectations at the coin toss however unlike Rugby, time isn’t stopped for the referee to get a captain to chat to his players about a certain thing. In Rugby they have a couple of penalties then if they mount up in particular in attacking positions , the captain is asked to control the players discipline with the next time it’s a yellow card and 10 minutes in the sin bin. The captains in football don’t have any extra responsibility and aren’t used in this way.

If there was a sin bin in football for 5 or 10 minutes it could be an extra tool to be used. At the end of the day these are professional footballers and they should know the Laws of the game, but they try and use loopholes to their advantage and it’s hard to spot at ground level. Back of the South Stand is so much easier to see what’s going on

It has been trialled for a couple of seasons in non league. Although, like all new rules and directives, it seems to get applied for a few weeks and then ignored. I wasn't even aware it was still a thing in our league this season until our club's X indicated we went down to 10 in a recent match, which I didn't notice in the slightest, that was how obvious the ref made it. Given we then scored twice with a man less, they should do it more often 🤣
