The panic

No one's panicking.

Remember last season? Fleetwood came to the lane and did a proper job on us.

Walsall did a similar job, and hammered us 4-1 at their place.

We looked out of sorts in several other games that we either drew or narrowly won.

This season we lost our first two away games. Norwich came and did a job on us, and we were unlucky away at Forest.

The same thing happened afterwards every time. We pulled ourselves together and went on a run. Complacency has never been an issue under Wilder, and never will be.

Really looking forward to Saturday.

Didn't post last night as I wanted to calm down a bit.

I have to say, the performance was pretty wretched though not the worst I've seen at Loftus Road by a long chalk.

Even last year we did have the odd duff performance (Fleetwood, Walsall). What was weird though was that as the match went on we seemed to stop being able to do the basics. Some credit goes to QPR (and wily old Wurzel) for matching us up but Coutts and Lundstram were not on the same wave-length and our play in wide positions simply didn't come off, over-hit passes, under-hit passes, dinks to no-one etc.

Lessons learned: Brooks is not a replacement for Duffy in the advanced midfield position: Coutts and Lundstram are not a good CM pairing; Donaldson and Clarke doesn't work up top. Harsh lessons, but perhaps worth knowing these things now (and planning the JTW accordingly) rather than at the business end of the season.
Let’s be careful about drawing too many conclusions after a single game. It takes time for partnerships to develop.

What it confirms is that keeping any side as settled as possible is, in itself, a positive thing.

Good to see some more sensible posts on this thread than on others where some people seem to have quickly forgotten that before this season Utd have spent 6 years in L1 and following a miraculous start now seem to us to steamroll every single Champ side. Perhaps they should compare the start with that of Bolton's and Millwall's!

Agreed, along with the Cardiff game it was probably the worst performance of the season with some of the changes not really working (& CW's post match comments being right on the button) but that said, Utd still created enough clear cut chances (O'Connell, Clarke etc.) to win the game against a side who had obviously done their homework and did a decent job to stop Utd playing their preferred and most effective way.

Onwards and upwards to Hull on Saturday.

About a year ago, we were struggling to beat League 1 teams with 9 men at home; last night we lost away to QPR to a freak goal, and by the same margin as Wolves, the favourites to top the league, lost there 3 days before. Panic? I still can't believe the progress.

How dare you!!!11111one

I'm flipping tables, I've taken to twatter, Facebook and MySpace to demand Wilder's removed from his post immediately. Jamal should be sent back as he's obviously error prone and as for Lundstram, don't even get me started...

I've sent a letter to The Times, I don't do Twatbook or whatever it's called ;)
