I'd like to think Brownie was being ironic as well.

Get the fucker SOLD. Another season of him being picked is like discovering blood on your toilet paper.

For everyone's 'aw, poor Monty. He's a servant to the club,' I'll counter that with what you're saying is like humouring the toothless gimmer who empties the jamrag bin and you can't be dicked to give him his P45. Monty has put in a number of games for Sheffield United - the majority of which have been particularly unremarkable and moreso error prone. He has the touch of a rapist (not Ched) and the ball control and skill of a trout. It is high time we had a visit from another club to Bramall Lane for whom we can sportingly clap, " ... Number Six ... Nicky Montgomery ... " and then comfortably sit back and watch him spoil the aspirations of the opposition, instead of everyone else laugh at us at having to endure his woeful shortcomings as a professional footballer.

Ta-ra, Nick. Thanks, and all that, but just fuck off now, eh?

They reckon that 3 clubs are after him, including judas warnock at that strange club, so he can't be as bad as some of you make out!
here we go again.. frank lampard says 'yadda yadda yadda'
yeah ok he breaks up play.. ours.. the lad would make a great commando but footballer he is not

He wasn't and isn't a ball-winner. He was and is a ball-loser. He occasionally deprives the opposition of the ball on a strictly temporary basis, though far more frequently he is left chasing shadows by players with quicker brains and more skilful feet (the vast majority of opposition midfielders, even at League One level). Play then restarts with a throw-in, corner or, far too often, a dangerous free-kick or penalty to the opposition. On the odd occasion he wins clean possession he can be relied upon to give it away immediately.

Undeniable.

Of course, abuse is unjustifiable and counter-productive,, but then again so is the employment of a non-footballer at a wage infinitely disproportionate to his [lack of] ability.

What he said.

He was the perfect player in both Warnock's and Blackwell's teams. However, he's clearly lost pace and sadly, looks out of place in the current team and with the style we now try to play. Like the majority of the fans, Wilson has seen through him and doesn't want him in the team.

Don`t hate him, just hate to see his name in our squad.

He is gash, always been gash, get rid.

I don't hate monty. But a footballer should be able to pass, shoot and cross. Sell him to the next available sucker.

And morgan didint??
Morgan has been with the Blades 9 years (crocked for the last year and a half too), typically you'd get a testomonial at 10 years.....
Monty has surpassed this.

Testamonials - I got them when players earned "£50K" per year. Not these days. We've made them rich with the silly ticket pries and pay packets, don't ask for more from us.

Testomonial proceeds generally go to charities these days.
It's not about the money for me, it's nice to show your appreciation.

Yes, after players have taken appearance fees, expenses have been deductd, and all those that generally do well out of the game............do well out of the game. Meanwhile, we have to pay, again.

If I want to give to charity then I'll give to charity. If I want to support Monty or United, I turn up and support them (and their fat wages) every Saturday.

They aren't for me - but those who want to will, those that don't won't.

:)
