I said there'd be no shortage of candidates who would want the job, and so it proves. As much as we are a bit of a disjointed pile of crap at the moment, there are worse in the league and no reason why we can't get our act together. Still 26 games left...

We have to take a gamble on (and pay some compensation for) a young, up and coming manager from League 1 or League 2. We can't afford any better and we need someone who knows the lower leagues to find the bargains and just in case we end up there. So let's look at the options:

From that list above, I'd be looking at Eddie Howe, Andy Scott and Keith Hill. Thoughts?

Good analysis nice to see someone engaging brain before spouting of but surprised you did not mention Adams at port vale which I suggested when they appointed Speed
also surprised no one as mentioned Keith Curle he did do a good job at Mansfield

Two threads started on BM last night that MA was relieved of his duties late last night, with the second thread saying he has resigned. Guy that's posted them says he is a journo on the sports desk at The Sentinal. Says they are trying to substantiate the story, but can't track MA down

The guy that posted this has posted on numerous occasions previously. One story he got right, the other was Carl Dickinson to the Blades on season long loan and he still maintains that was happening as CD himself told his colleague. However, we all know this loan didn't take place. The journo said that CD was rerouted to Portsmouth as part of another deal by the club, but was intended to go to BL.

It says further that Port Vale's match today is off because of a frozen pitch. There's no mention of any suspension/relief of duty on the Sentinel's site either.
