Yeah, I remember my first visit up there as a mascot. They'd never allow that these days due to health and safety... Basically walking a plank between a couple of girders :D

Can't beleive they used to let mascots up there. Yes, it's a bit lairy. They probably don't need a cameraman up there these days, it can all be controlled remotely.

I remember one game when we played the pigs. Their fans had somehow got access to the tower on St Mary's and set up a banner on the top, which could be clearly seen from the camera angle at the top of the South Stand.

Every time I walk on that, I have my heart in my mouth just expecting a wooden plank to break and falling to my death in the South Stand

I remember going up onto the roof area of the South Stand as part of a school trip back in either 1987 or 1988. As you say it wouldn’t even be dreamt about these days.

I bought my little girl a mascot package two seasons ago, and we were taken up to the gantry (I think) you’re talking about, right up under the SS roof? Brilliant view but I imagine bloody freezing for the media folk!!

My kids went up as part of the mascot package for the FA Cup tie against Leyton Orient a couple of years ago under Adkins.

We're talking about actually on top of the stand's roof

Really? Christ! Don't think I'd fancy that!

Were the tv cameras etc actually on top of the roof originally then?? I'd like to see them back to their true original location one day, back on the John St roof!

Looks like it was designed for one of the early Pro Evo's on the Mega Drive...

SCC planning ref number 19/02155/FUL

That was a POETS day effort if ever there was one...
No, it's not a wind up. These are the actual drawings accompanying the planning application. SCC reference underneath artwork. :)

To be fair it is a glorified site cabin, do we need a scale drawing and 4k high resolution 3D rendered image?

I would imagine the club is just getting this done as quick as possible to tick premier league requirement boxes.

Remember back in 90s when they used to knock up a scaffold and tarpaulin box in between BL end and Southbound Stand? Or have I just made that up?

Later than that i reckon! I remember it, put up for bigger cup games in the 2000’s.

Hmm. So the pundits have to run the gauntlet and mingle with the fans to get in and out?
