The moaning brigade

Re-read my two, short posts - at no point have I opposed your right to an opinion. I simply disagreed with your tirade against someone who offered theirs.

You disagree with much of what I do Jaffs, when challenged and scrutinised usually without foundation. Seems to me you just HAVE to join in the scrap.

Were smash forest Friday and all this lot moaning will be on the we are going up thing. Get behind the boys it were an off day at Millwall forget it and move on to next match

I think with the squads fatigue and a lot of fixtures we rested Berge, MGW and Fleck against a physical Millwall team to prepare them for Forest and Middlesbrough.. it’s a bump in the road but we get at least 4 points on next 2 it’ll be forgot quickly.
I can't argue with that just goes through me the travel the expense and A mediocre performance, I should know better at my age UTB

Even with MGW and Berge playing minimal minutes, there's still no guarentee we will get any points from Forest and Boro.

We could easily end up getting zero points from those two games which will look like egg on our face for virtually forfeiting/waving the white flag at Millwall and also getting zero points there as well.

It could be a masterstroke from Hecky or what could cause us to just miss out on the playoffs.. only time will tell.

We win our next two that are at home and the same people will be saying we’re going up.
It’s football fans in general, we’re a fickle bunch

Not moaning but...

The angle is rotation - to keep players fresh and stand the best chance of picking up points, but it's not thought through.

We gained no points on Saturday with squad B- if we had played squad A - we might have got some points- squad A plays Friday against a much stronger team, we might lose again.

Nett result= ZERO POINTS

If we'd played a strong squad against Millwall Nett result= at least 3 points

This makes sense to a point. I think we all agree that squad rotation has to happen at some point. Given Sander and MGW have both had injuries this year we need to be careful with both lads.

We HAVE to rest them at some point. So the choice is rest them against Millwall and hope the "b" team can do the business.

Or play the "B" team against Forest or Boro and give an easier shot at 3 points to our promotion rivals.

Personally, if we have to run the risk of losing points to Millwall, Forest or Boro, I'm choosing the away game at Millwall every day of the week.

3 points lost against Millwall won't cause us as many issues as 3 points lost against Forest or Boro.

I mostly come on here to either moan, or reminisce about shit/brilliant times in the past, for which Silent and Hodgysbroken thumb are excellent touchstones. I don't come on to debate whether Berge is better at RM, CM. Or whether Mcburnie is a striker or link up player (FFS!). So for me, keep on moaning. It's what makes these forums interesting. Leave the vanilla chat for the Lineker brigade....

Millwall are like Switzerland in a World Cup or Euros. Not going to be in the final but sure as hell can fuck it up for someone else if you underestimate them and that might well have been why we came a cropper.

We happened to be one of the victims due to perhaps a pragmatic approach of putting midfielders who get a nosebleed if they go anywhere near the goal and a striker who doesn't offer a lot over 90 minutes either, certainly no threat on the opposition goal.

Keep the ball, whack it to McBurnie, hit it into the channels, get out of London with a point and onto Forest where we have a fresh MGW and Berge ready to go and help us beat one of my least favourite teams in the country. I can picture all the Clough montages on MOTD if those arseholes ever went back up and it makes me nauseous thinking about it.

For what it's worth, If I was in charge of our team. 🤪
I'd concentrate on winning my Home games and using my best players sparingly in away games.
I would class away points as a bonus, and home point's a necessity.
I realise this would not be very popular with the fan who spend their hard earned cash on away trips (God bless em)
but if it got us into the play offs I'm sure even they would think it was worth the pain ........

But then again I could be wrong on both points,,,,,,,,, :tumbleweed:

If you change that to winning at home and drawing away I don’t think you’re far off the current strategy.
