Two defeats in last three months and some still try their best in fault finding!

You sound like fucking Putin, Silent

We lost, after a decent run, against a team who weren't that good and the play was substandard compared with recent performances.

What is 'moaning' about that? It's just an observation

Yup

There are also many who are questioning the approach to team selection yesterday which resulted in a dreadful , flat , performance against a team considered not to be of the power we will be up against in coming days

Three points are three points and cannot be re won . Makes the need to win against forest / boro etc even more vital and the cost of failure even more impactful towards our aim of getting into the playoffs .

Nothing wrong with fair criticism especially when the outcome was so poor and many are predicting this outcome once they see the team .

No point in putting in all this effort which we are all delighted with to then actively contribute to our downfall through poor team selection

It’s not criticism after the event so much as criticism before the event.

It’s called improving things worse

You have read your own comments if anyone disagrees with you on your ‘my take’. Generally focused around ‘fuck off this is ‘my take’ if you don’t agree with it, don’t read it, now trot on’. Pot and kettle spring to mind

This. Warranted criticism is fine, preconceived criticism not so. We were crap yesterday and now find ourselves out of the play off positions and adding unnecessary pressure to the upcoming home games. Heckys done great so far and not many saw us being in and around the play offs 15 games back but team selection yesterday was questionable.

As others have said, watching it , Millwall just weren’t very good! That’s the disappointment for me, not our overall performances. Play to our near best. We would have won that game. And be in a better position. I though Millwall were there for the taking. 2nd half Gibbs and berge should have been brought on a lot sooner. And sharp or mcburnie taken off . It wasn’t working. Which was plain to see . That’s the disappointment

On the strength of this reply, seems like it is you who is having difficulty with contrary opinions Pommps. SB is highlighting the need for perspective, without being personal.

Agree & share the disappointment about who we lost to and how we lost it. I did watch the game yesterday (albeit in multi-task mode) and one thing I loosely observed is how leggy most of the players looked (eg. Baldock pulling up) and how even more disappointing the contribution from McBurnie & Hourihane was despite being our 'fresher' players. I wasn't overly impressed with Gordon but I'm not going to criticise the kid after a league debut at Millwall away.

If we'd have defended that set piece properly and held on for a point + clean sheet combo we'd be a content bunch, Hecky would've been a squad rotating genius & our respective player ratings would probably be 0.5 better off.

Big couple of weeks now which I think Hecky had one-eye on judging by the lineup yesterday.

(Resisting...urge...to...say...ahhhh I can't do it...)
WE GO AGAIN 👊🏽
(🤮)

Friday nite it could go either way,i'm sitting on the fence.

I will have a moan while i'm here, our shooting was terrible would have been better suited to Twicks.

And I feel it may be you who don't read my responses. Go on, have a look. Anyone who disagrees regarding 'the match' is absolutely welcome to comment and I admire that, especially if it is backed up by evidence. Whereas anyone who comes across as a cunt and personalises it with 'you don't go to any matches' or tries the Billy Big Blade shit gets short shrift. See also anyone who wishes to make work of my employment.

Go on Copes. Go have a look. You and I have been around these boards long enough to know what the score is.

What we dont know is which players are carrying knocks and minor muscle strains and can only play a certain number of minutes per week without getting properly injured.

What we do know is if neither MGW or Berge are in the team our ability to go past players is virtually zero (unless Ndiaye is on form).

Against a workman like team such as Millwall you need a bit of flare to break them down. We chose not to play either and it's fair enough to criticise this policy especially when you play 2 strikers with zero pace. Sharp and Jebbo would have given us more opportunity to stretch them but instead we had a slow front two and no midfield flare.

Is he? Or is he whining because people are simply voicing an opinion at odds with his? There are many on here who go to great lengths to explain why they feel the way they do about yesterdays result yet that's not good enough for Silent. Anyone remotely disappointed with that game should simply shut up and rejoice in the past few games where we have done well. Well, check back ... we were happy with it. So how long do we have to endure matches like yesterdays before we are 'allowed' to offer a counter observation? Would this be an actual forum if after the Millwall game we sat round and laughed at the result?

And you are mentioning 'perspective'

Must admit I’m quite negative after a defeat but ffs we’ve gone like 8 unbeaten lost narrowly to an in form Millwall away from a guy that always scores against us we have 2 big home games coming up season defining imo let’s get behind the lads.
Once I was in the ground and saw our line up I said 1-0 Millwall that said I expected a much better performance.

We didn't hurt them at all and we should have they were poor we were poorer it happens hopefully a blip

Onto the next game UTB

It’s an odd concept in 2022, holding a nuanced view. I personally think Hecky has done fantastically well, we’re playing some great stuff and the results have been nearly flawless. The blips in the record have largely been assisted by a tendency at times to tinker a bit too much with starting 11.

The frustrating thing about yesterday for me was the result was largely self-inflicted. Sharp and McBurnie does not, has not and will not work and dropping MGW, Berge and Fleck at once was suicide. At least 2 of those 3 have to play 95% of our remaining games to stand a chance.

Oh and at the risk of stating the obvious, why exactly haven’t we left a promising 18 year old where he was doing well, if he’s not worth 20 minutes in a game like yesterday?

If we'd have defended that set piece properly and held on for a point + clean sheet combo we'd be a content bunch, Hecky would've been a squad rotating genius & our respective player ratings would probably be 0.5 better off.
This is the thing for me. But for a shit piece of marking from a daft free kick we’d have drawn 0-0 and it would have been happy days.

My only concern would then be that we’d still have a striker with whom there is seemingly inverse correlation between him starting and us scoring goals. That’s not ideal.

Who’d have thought that a football forum that was made so fans could discuss their team, and their matches, good or bad, would result in folk moaning and wanting it run like North Korea, tell you who the moaning bastards are, those who don’t like anything discussed unless it positive, not how things work I’m afraid, everyone is allowed an opinion on their team and on every game whether you agree with them or not, don’t like it? Well stop fucking moaning and fuck off to a happy clappers forum.

As much as I would love to go back through all your ‘My takes’ I really can’t be bothered. Once is enough

i dont mind losing but yesterday it was the how we lost and i still dont understand Jebbo getting ready and the Hecky changing his mind for Fleck
Hecky makes the decisions that in his time have been 90 per cent right.

Its hard plugging the gaps that 4 major injuries that have hit him and players getting worn out.

But its glaringly obvious. Mc burnie helps in defence but he is just no good up front. Hecky will lose credability if he persists with him when Jebbison is worth at least a run out

Hopefully it's just a blip, we are plagued by injuries, we've had a busy month, it was bound to catch up with us at some point, we are still in a great position and have a good chance of the play offs, its remarkable where we are, some on here would have been happy to take 4th bottom not so long ago.
