I'd say 'abused'.

Most of the trheads are about his 'shit transfer dealings' his inabaility to pick the right team and the dressing room rows he allows to continue unabated. I don't see very much constructive in any of those.

To be fair, I haven't yet seen a "he's lost the dressing room" but if we lose on Saturday I'm sure that will come.....

I never realised we had so many short memoried bed wetters in our support base.

The modern day Eskimos don’t climb pylons at Huddersfield, they call our players “cunts” on an internet message board using an anonymous pseudonym. Strange world! :)

Getting booked doesn't necessarily mean that he gave away a foul in a stupid position, or that he doesn't contribute to the team performance.

Last season Fleck got 14 yellow cards and a red. 2 of his yellows came from those 4 games (Leeds and Preston). The red came in the home defeat to Bristol City. A very important game which was finely poised at the time of his sending off. However, I would never say that he doesn't make a positive contribution to the side.

I don't see Evans as being anything like a key player, but I do think he's not a bad player and has made some useful contributions.

Still, as you say, we all see things slightly differently.

I've given my thoughts as to why he negatively impacts the side, bar 'Boro at home, what do feel he he has usefully contributed to the teams performances?

Sorry for the late reply. Been down the pub.

He is not an impact player. He doesn't grab your attention in the way that, say Duffy or Fleck can do.

I regard him as a useful squad player, not a first choice player. There are many players like him in the championship and below.

I think he is someone who can generally find one of his own players with a pass. He's not Tony Currie, but usually keeps things simple and moves the ball on sensibly. I do think that he slows our play down. On occasions yes, but not generally. He's not afraid to put a foot in and I think he does disrupt the opposition. He does not hide. I think he would be better positioned in front of the back 3 (or 4 if we revert to 4-4-2) so that most of the play is in front of him.

Since he arrived, he started in all 7 matches that we won. But on the other side of the coin, he also started in all 7 of the matches that we lost.

He is not a stand out footballer, but is a presence. I would like better, but I think we have had a lot worse than him over the years!

Some reight moaning abart people moaning

And, in a thrilling plot twist, S24SU can now announce a string of new posts by moaners moaning about people moaning about them moaning!

Initial reviews are moaning that these posts are a bit derivative of previous posts from every transfer window ever.

It was always going to be the case Silent that even super Chris with his messiah like reputation over the last couple of seasons would be under pressure from our lot after a few defeats and so it is. I think even the harshist of critics could maybe have reined it in after only 2 games but for the fact that it is a continuation, or seems to be, from the last 20 odd games from last season, nothing seems to have changed despite bringing in one or two 'straight on the team sheet' players.

I feel for Tufty, and the rest of us, for the fact that he clearly, for whatever reason, hasn't been able to bring in the real quality we need up front and what happens in the next 2 weeks or so could well define our season. A fit and firing Coutts will make a difference, but that's a big ask, and I still think one quality player up front will give us the same kind of focal point Billy did 2 years ago and potentially make a massive difference.

All's not lost yet obviously but we need to turn things around quickly starting with a Brizzle type positive performance on Saturday.

The (justified) criticism isn't based on the first 2 games of the season, it's based on the 29 games since Coutts got injured and the mere 8 wins, 8 draws and 13 losses in that time, that's relegation form.

We all want Wilder to turn it round, but it's worrying that he keeps making the same mistakes.

I thought we were at our worst for their third goal. Very poor defending. Two players fail to pick up Downing. He should never have got on the end of that cross unchallenged. I hope this was purely because we were a bit shell shocked after going two down.

Other thoughts: The tempo that we had to our game last season seems to have evaporated. I'm sure that if we were pressing with the urgency that we used to have we would not have lost both of our games. And Clarke really should have scored twice. However, he does seem to have periods where he misses a lot of chances and then suddenly goes on a scoring streak. Hopefully this will happen soon!

I noticed in World Cup strikers had to have 17 chances to score 2. And Leon isn't our out & out goalscorer he has other duties ....drawing 2 opp defenders so he's double marked allowing his partner or a middie the freedom of being unmarked. He also gets us free kicks as part of job of creating a platform for his team mates. Like when Billy played with Beat & Billy s job was feed the Beat. While Leon is doing all this stuff he will play every game. As CW knows his worth irrespective whether a few fans might not like him. Leon does what he is told to do works hard so he is the first name on the team sheet.

I agree but unfortunately we've always had them. Some have inherited from their Dad ! I remember some vile Blades slagging of the brilliant Alan Woodward /Woody ! The greatest player never to play for England. I remember some dick heads saying " don't know why he gets picked he must be John Harris 'bastard. I was a kid then so just thought is this the loonies on a day out. So nothing has changed really we still have a load of loonies who talk crap !

Yes brave lot aren't they ? I've noticed the more abusive they are ...to our own players & manager....the thicker they are. MENSA could use this as an IQ test.

Those of us who have been around the block a bit knew, even at the height of euphoria and Chris mania following promotion from League one, that at some point in the future people would start calling for Wilder's head.

That it started after 1 game of the new season and has escalated so far after just 2 games is very, very sad.
He clearly isn't perfect, maybe some thought he was for a while and are venting as they come to terms with this?

A lot has been said about tactics, formations, selections, fitness, budgets, stubbornness etc. I'm not going to try and disect all that and refute the bits I don't agree with in this post. All I would say is that for all he has achieved in the short time he has been with us, he deserves the opportunity to try to put things right and he deserves more respect than some posters have shown him.
I agree ..& I do believe Chris knows the vast majority of fans are behind him & support him. I'm talking 95% are behind him all the way which is mega support. He just has to ignore or let the 5% gobby know nowts who say or rant a lot wash over him. The posts filled with obscenities are the vile ones. If they can't string a few sentences together without calling our own players & brilliant manager obscene insults they obviously need exterminating & burying under a flyover !

It’s simple then. We should just get ourselves a new manager who always picks the right team, tactics are spot on, who never makes a bad substitution and who’s transfers dealings always work out. There’s got to be loads out there who’d be desperate join us, especially with Kev and HRH at the helm.

I know, that's what I said :)

That’s right Laney. Even that great united side and manager got slated by the looney brigade. They’re always there and whenever they get the chance they moan.
