Wilder seems to put one of Dowell or Duffy in the squad, more so away from home. Its rarely a like for like swap with the pair as he seems to prefer the style of Dowell or Duffy for a particular game.

With respect, that’s nonsense. The only time since Dowell’s signing where one has started and the other wasn’t on the bench was Middlesbrough at home – for the good reason that both started that one. This is literally the first time since Dowell’s signing where one has not been in the squad. It’ll be because of an injury. It won’t be because he wants both Johnson and Washington involved...

I hadn't checked, but seemed to be how it had been going, however, i just checked and you're right, its nonsense! Apologies for that

As for the reason for Duffy being out, as i said, no injury news.

But again, if McG is fatigued from this week, then it makes sense to have two strikers on the bench

We’ve not been good from 10 minutes in, but Bristol City are a decent side. Too sloppy in possession and have looked to smash it long too often rather than be patient. Dowell a bit of a passenger, McGoldrick having to repeatedly drop deeper. Could do worse than bring Hogan on for Dowell and drop McGoldrick in behind. Would have been nice to have brought Madine on 2nd half in this sort of game...
