Yes I thought that too. Ordinarily an understandable change, but in the situation we were in we’d switched to a 4 at the back 2nd half and the CBs were no longer overlapping. We were also likely to be under the cosh. Instead we bring Johnson on and switch back to a 3, turning one change into effectively two, and then after conceding immediately switched back to a 4 (which Stearman would have been more suitable for).

That said, too many players had off-games today to blame just this for the result. Plenty of football still to play though.

This result was obviously going to happen, not because it was coming but because we were playing them cunts. Never known a luckier club when playing us at Bramall Lane, always tight, always even-ish, but they always get the breaks

I can understand the desire to not put square pegs in round holes, but the players have to be good enough.

All the overlapping stuff is great, but in the context of the game, winning but playing poorly, surely an old head in Stearman or Crainie would have been preferred to Johnson and taking Enda to LCB, knocking both positions out of whack.

It was time for a cool head. Crainie/Stearman were it.

Is this the footballing God's? Winning 2-1. JOC off injured. Lose 3-2. Sure feels like it.

At one point today we were 4 points ahead of Leeds. Now 2 behind.
