Really don't give a monkeys - it's the league that bothers me but I suppose people easily get bothered
All competitions are important, that means the League, the League cup, FA Cup and, In the 60’s the Country Cup.
If we slip down the league to 10th like we did last season will you still think it was a good idea to disregard the possibility of a good cup run?

Today I’m very surprised and disappointed at CW.

It doesn't make any difference which of the players are in the team that progresses, as long as they progress. Each round would have seen progressively better players from the squad picked. I'm not sure what on earth that's got to do with anything, but there's your answer.
So I take it you would be bothered about a semi-final. Do you realise that you have to get passed round 3 first?

Can't believe so many people who are glad about our exit from the FA Cup

Do you not remember 2014 ?
It spurred us on to almost claiming a play off place when we were relegation fodder
There are those that don’t want to draw ridiculous conclusions about the impact a reserve team result will have on the first team.

That’s separate to people’s view on the cup.

If we played our first 11, I’d turn up, pay, and want to win.

We play our 2nd 11 and I’m not interested. I can understand (but disagree with) those who’re pissed off with that.

Shows how we need additions this month. If we get any injuries they are the guys we'll have to rely on!

It bothers me purely down to the lacklustre performance, a team of part timers wanted it more than we did. Any player that turns out in the red and white and plays on the hallowed turf is expected to put in 110% every time. Whether it be first 11 second 11 or the under 21’s, regardless of the competition it’s the effort and passion that counts. Today nobody seemed to have it in them, they train together 5 days a week, they know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. They get paid handsomely to perform and today that just didn’t happen. But if you look at the other teams at the top of the Championship both Norwich & Leeds lost in the cup. Promotion is key for this season.

I cannot get my head round the fact that Boro paid the best part of three million quid for Johnson.

Lots of silly money getting forked out for average/poor players, we are about to do the same with a player from Cardiff.

I'm not having a go or singling out your opinion here as I know a lot of others will be of the same view. However I think what's happened today is a disgrace. The FA Cup is just as important (or even more so) than winning the second tier. Winning the second tier means a club gets millions for promotion, but is that all football is about for people now?

Sadly it is Birdwell, bloating yourself on the premiership millions is what it's all about nowadays.

1st congrats to barnet played well. worked hard & fully deserved it. no qualms about that. good luck to them in round 4. hope they get big side in next round the fans that came deserve it & if anything at least our fans have shown them in positive light. being gracious in defeat the line up i dont see problem without hindsight. 4 games in 10 days the players needed the rest. but it 80/20. players fault as quality was there 5 of them moore lundstram coutts clarke & freeman were major parts of L1 title winning squad. as improved as we were in 2nd half. with chances with Freeman Clarke & Sharp the damage was done 1st half. its why i blame the defence for it because midfield were ok & strikers did what they could. but defence were shocking. its why 1st 15mins i said like to say that wasnt coming. but they have caused us alot problems on the counter because you could tell no10 pace terrified them, clearly shown by the stonewall penalty that was desperation tackle. then theres was debatable penalty we got away with before hand & offside goal

as ive said before don't go in for "concentration on the league" bollocks. i want to progress as far as we can in. whose the boring sod that watch Newport v Leicester & didnt feel any joy from that. thats why i want to be in the cup.

I will have forgotten losing to Forest or Derby away by next season. I won't forget this. How many people still talk about Altrincham?
I’ll remember them both if we miss promotion by a few points as we should have got points from both of them. Altrincham ... ? (lost for words)

This needs bumping to remind people just how shit the likes of Crainie were last season in a cup game but stepped up to the plate when needed.

Stop drawing conclusions from the Sunderland game. We weren’t interested.

I assume that it hasn't escaped your notice, that Cranie is a significantly 'better' player just for leaving. In order to find a stick to beat some of the current squad members, past players become superheroes.

I'm more than a little surprised, not to see a 'Bring Duffy back' thread.

I’m struggling today. The amount of crap from people old enough to know better. I’m no expert, I’m just an average fan but I’ve learnt from following football that you can’t judge players on performances in those types of games, or until they’ve played a decent number of games for the club.
