The last time we played bad?

I've been trying to remember the last time we played bad. It's that long ago I honestly can't remember. Even under Bassett and Warnock we had lots of bad performances.

It really is quite remarkable how Wilder and AK get them up for every game. Even in defeat I can't actually remember it being shite.

We were pretty poor against Cardiff, at least until the last 15 minutes or so. The opposition being bang on it didn't help though.

Before that probably losing 0-2 at home to Fleetwood in January.

I'm not sure either performance was 'bad' though. 2nd best maybe. Even the 1-4 v Walsall wasn't as 'bad' as the scoreline suggests. For me you have to go back to the 0-3 v Southend for a 'bad' performance. That was over 400 days ago.

Walking down Shoreham Street after Norwich, we were pretty much in agreement that a loss under Wilder was better than most of the victories under Adkins.
I thought Wilders first home game v Rochdale was very poor, but since then . . . . . . .

I said exactly this before the game. I can't remember the last time we didn't 'turn up'. So I had no doubt whatsoever that we would on Sunday. Fair to say we did!

That's the one I thought of straightaway, we were well beaten that night.

If you'd said after that game that we wouldn't lose again that season, in fact only drop 2 points and by September 24th we'd be in a play off spot in the Championship, nobody would have believed it. Not to mention the derby win.....

Walsall away last season was the last time we failed to turn up.

Incredible really because even the best teams has off days BUT not us.

Edit: Yes agree, Chezzie at home was the last match we failed to turn up. Still won though.

We played quite well at home to Fleetwood, we dominated, it was quite similiar to the Norwich home game last week.
Against Fleetwood we constantly attacked but never looked like scoring because they parked the bus. They hardly had any attacks but looked really dangerous. Rosler won the tactical battle and they were worthy winners.

Is the thread title 'the last time we played bad' or are my mince pies struggling? Had a bit of Peroni after but I remember twice losing the lead against a relegated local rival who finished with ten men, and needed an 82nd minute goal. The outcome was exemplary, the display wasn't quite IIRC.

I wasn't overly impressed with our performance at Bolton. Still won though, which is the sign of a fantastic team. Only the best win on their off days.

That match being the last time I made the trip to Bramall Lane. I'm going again tomorrow night, so expect another similar performance. I was also at Cardiff, the other bad performance.
