I think the match we won 2-1 at theirs when Akinbiyi scored was 3pm sat. Was it the promotion season so 05/06?

Don't know if there has been a more recent one.

I've only missed 1 Derby game since 2000 and I was at the one you refer to but can't seem to recall it being 3pm sat

I think you're right EB.
It was 18th of Feb, my wedding anniversary.
I was 'allowed' to go on the understanding that I took Mrs Greasy out at night.
Problem was, I jumped up when we nearly scored a third and smashed my head on one the the girders right at the back of the stand.
It was only about 5 mins from the end so decided to go to hospital and get it sorted.
Needless to say the anniversary plan went to pot, but she starting to come round a bit now.

And your missus believed that yarn GCB ? when you gonna were in the pub after with the lads ? :)

You mean the one where they scored in the opening minute and then Lupoli equalised for us soon after? If so I'm sure that one was on a Saturday but something like a 12:15 KO.

Early kick off from memory

When was the last United v Barnsley game at 3pm on a Saturday? If that game can't be played at that time it will be a long time before the Sheffield derby is.

The first competitive Sheffield Derby I saw was definitely a 3pm kick off!

Yep that was early. Just about made kick off on the Kop and soon wished I hadn't when Tudgay smashed one in right in front of me

I had my ST 5 rows from the front on the Kop then and we'd only just about finished singing the GCB!

But it was the first time they'd done the double over us in about 95 years bless 'em!

Think you're right here. I don't remember that game being particularly early.

Think that I was sat a couple of seats away from you (towards the north stand, back row), remember a couple of stewards coming to your aid and I think you said that you lived in the Aston area? you went to the concourse for treatment?
Bet you took the piece of rust you dislodged home
That was one eventful day....

That was me SS! St John's said to go to hospital and I had a choice to have it stitched or glued so went for the glueing since I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain.......it stung like f*****g crazy!
Wish I'd gone for the stitches instead!

The last one was the 2-1 win at Hillsboro in the promotion season.

There will never be another one again unless South Yorkshire Police are merged into a Greater Yorkshire force and some sensible heads from outside the currrent incompetent set up are put in charge,

I know, the post doesn't annoy, but the attitude to our footballing history in Sheffield does.

If I was council leader I'd milk it for all its worth and have legions foreign tourists going around the city every week to get a feel of the roots of the world's favourite sport.
that's why you're not.. you sound far too sensible mate :D

One of the more famous and historic derbies in modern football and some fucking bureaucrats are ruining it.
