Or you should have sang more anyway because that’s your fucking job.
My job! Hahahaha! My job is a long way from sat on the kop appeasing people like you by using my vocal chords, but I admire your passion. You're fighting a losing battle when you're having a go at random people about whether they're singing songs or not, without reason. For what it's worth, I probably sang more than most, but I don't expect everyone to act like we're the most passionate of fans when we've been supporting Sheffield United for the past 40 years.

Weird post. Yeah. Fan who’s has a season ticket for over two decades is disappointed with the embarrassing deterioration of our support despite being in a very good position on the pitch. Very weird.
What has bothered you so much though?

Yeah the atmosphere/attendance weren't as good but that's expected surely? Everyone around us on SS always knows that and doesn't moan 🤷‍♂️ (ST holders)

Absolutely embarrassing. Pathetic atmosphere first half. Don’t you dare try and have an opinion on the game if you’re in the crowd tonight, you are a disgrace.
I don't know how you can come on here shouting at everyone with all the singing you've done, your throat must be in tatters!

The timing of this post is poor given we won and remain unbeaten and 5 clean sheets in a row….however, it’s also pertinent because we won, we remain unbeaten and have 5 clean sheets in a row.

The atmosphere at the Lane is shite the OP is right. However, we know it can be so much better. Loads on here last season the atmosphere will improve once the on pitch performances do….well, we’re 3rd! Doing well…

For me, the only way you make it better is you dedicate the Kop the signing section and have safe standing. But we all know that ain’t happening!

People just need to accept that there is never going to be the kind of atmosphere at the lane of years and decades past. it's gone. It's the same at most English league grounds now. It's a new generation of fans, many glued to their phones all game, and ticket prices have priced out many of the previous generation who created those atmospheres.

Fratten Park was an outlier, the atmosphere at most English league grounds now is non-existent. Compare it to German league games and you can see how quiet our crowds are in comparison.

I remember a time when I could honestly say that the live football experience was so much better than watching it on tv thanks to all the atmosphere. Just isn't true anymore is it?

Bit harsh (and odd) to express an opinion on the match tonight, while simultaneously saying that nobody who was at the match, can have an opinion on the match?

FWIW, I think the atmosphere at the lane, and on the kop, is not what it used to be, but that's true across football as a whole. Times have changed.

Never completely understood the logic of football fans that say “I’ve been going since before you were born” or “I’m a season ticket holder of ___ years.” Exactly what validity does that give you over another person? It doesn’t really have anything to do with your point either. You could be a season ticket holder of 5 years or 50 years and come to the same conclusion.

In any case, Ndiayewillalwaysloveyou is right. That was a weird post.

I notice we don't have many songs for our current players. Only Brooks & Souza have songs I think? Hamer has a copy n paste chant, deserves something better as he's clearly our best player.

Maybe if we actually get some chants for our players it will help atmosphere?

Honestly, I prefer watching the games at home on TV now. I only go to the live games to see friends nowadays. The actual match experience is...kind of boring.

Predictably shit atmosphere and low crowd.
You can't charge our match day prices for a Wednesday night match against uninteresting opposition for a game on the telly and expect any different.
Quid a kid, the new students a fiver, ST bring a friend for a fiver, buy a ticket for Swansea get Luton half price. At least try something United. Filling seats generally means a better atmosphere.

It was a bit flat, but I wasn’t altogether surprised that the midweek 1-0 thriller against Swansea and their 100 travelling supporters, somehow failed to stir the emotions.

If you went, as you say you did, you would have to concede that the game wasn’t a great spectacle and did little to raise the blood pressure, never mind a song.

Even Swansea, barely sung and they’re Welsh, that’s their job, it’s their one claim to fame, fucking singing. Oh and maybe, something to do with sheep, of course.

Swansea came to the lane a few years ago and brought 5,000 in the f.a cup and literally took the city centre over. They rammed the bankers draft .
Only 10 k blades turned up so it's swings and roundabouts.
Regardless of how many away fans turn up we don't cone to support them WE BACK our team

25k has got to be our lowest attendance for a long time. There will have been fewer than 2000 non st holders in the ground. Surprising as we've won our past few home games, and most people will have just got paid. Sky coverage will have put a few off.
