The Kabba Transfer

You may or may not be aware, but the PL actually stated that had West Ham (Terry Brown) handed over all the relevant documents back in August (including the supposed third party influence one) then the PL would have allowed the registration anyway (largely due to the ambiguity of rule U18 or whatever number it was). West Ham, would have just needed to change it so that Tevez could have been sold in January without West Ham's consent. Hardly OMG CHEATS! CHEATS! material eh? (Not that I expect you to agree of course. That would require being objective.)

I do not know the ins and outs of this situation and neither do you ‘sunshine’. You can read and regurgitate as much tabloid journalism as you like but the fact is that West Ham broke the rules, admitted as much as the PL hearing and were punished.

As far as I am concerned, these are the only facts that count; regardless of the whys and wherefores.

Your calls for me to be objective are a tad hypocritical but that’s okay, I couldn’t care less and I’m sure that you include such a comment to provoke a response.

You put your point across well and are very supportive of your club so fair play to you on that, but I don’t agree with your point of view and i never will.

Well did he score all the goals in all the games we won? Apart from the Bolton game, where I concede he was instrumental, and the Man Utd game, in which a draw would have done anyway, he didn't really make a huge impact on any other game.

You only stayed up by 3 points. Do the maths and work out for yourself if Tevez made the difference.....

You may aswell give up debating it Sendo.

Just let the PL give us some money and admit there useless coz thats all thats gonna probably happen.

As much as you could do with it now that McCabe has p*ssed away so much on the pr campaign i can't see the premier league giving you anything. If they do, then it sets a precedent that if a club doesn't agree with the leagues ruling then a compo claim will follow. Levy at spurs threatened to do the same when they failed to qualify for the champions league, claiming that the team were all too ill to play against West Ham and the game should have been postponed, McCabe has taken it that step further, the only thing left now is full-blown court action. I really hope that no club takes this route as it would truely end the game as we know it.

I think if the PL decided to relegate West Ham that's the first thing your club would do.

The "game as we know it" died a very long time ago.......have you read The Beautifull game by David Conn?

Interesting choice of phrase there, especially as it was "examining the whys and wherefores" that led McCabe to believe that the arbitration was worth persuing. So judging from the above, West Ham broke the rules, admitted as much and were punished. So shouldn't that be the end of the matter?;) If the Kabba transfer does turn out to include an illegal clause that McCabe has denied on tv, would the club happilly accept a £5.5 million fine and move on?

Court isn't an option if any club wishes to continue operating as a football club in the league system.

FIFA state that any club who takes court action against the associations will fail to be recognised them and ostracised from the league.

All very convenient not to open the game and its practises to external scrutiny isn't it? ;)

£2.5 million actually... you got another £2.5 million for lying - something we clearly haven't done.

Actually it should only be a fraction of this because any agreement concerning Kabba would only be for one game whereas Tevez played in many more games.

I hope it wont come to this obviously, but with precendents already being set ie Sugar having a points deduction overturned at spurs they know they would have a very strong case, legally. What worries me is that the next move will be a club challenging the result of a game in the high-court due to a dubious refereeing decision ( you know about them up here, dont you;) ). Would refs be left open for compensation claims agaisnt themseves personally, if so where would you find one willing to take a chance?

Haven't read mr conns book, never a more appropritately named journo though.;)

To be honest, i'm so fed up with this subject that i wish that would be the end of it.

But then i don't stand to lose millions and so i understand why our club is persuing the matter so vehemently.

Linz, McCabe has tried to claim that the official blades website and the watord one and your own matchday program lied on this matter and that there was no clause. With the next breathe he said that by stating it on the official site all was above board and nothing was hidden. Which one is it?
