Maybe stick him on after 30mins so we still get the full hour but finish the game with him on the pitch. Classy player

They were still hoping for better offers in the summer though, they wouldn’t have signed for us.It's crazy we got Bamford and Jairo in mid season free transfers. Some work those signings and exactly the kind of smart recruitment we needed in the summer.
We just missed out in the play offs after getting 90 points it's not like we were expecting to be this far off it. They joined when we were far worse off! Perhaps computer said no to them...They were still hoping for better offers in the summer though, they wouldn’t have signed for us.
Didn’t Bamford say last summer that he was looking for a PL club? He then realised he wasn’t getting one, we were a good fit for him despite league position, close enough to Leeds and presumably half decent money. We just missed out in the play offs after getting 90 points it's not like we were expecting to be this far off it. Rather have Bamford over McBurnie? He basically saved us with some crucial goals, I admit he's going through a lean spell and doesn't have a right foot but he's a good player!Didn’t Bamford say last summer that he was looking for a PL club? We’d have signed McBurnie instead last summer if we didn’t have Selles in charge.
The other advantage with Bamford in this division is he is a big name player that knows the Championship well. He draws defenders to him, yes he might not have scored for a little while but he is still a threatRather have Bamford over McBurnie? I’m happy with Bamford. We’d have conspired to have McBurnie sat in the physio’s room all season if we’d signed him. Wouldn’t have been unhappy with McBurnie on a free though, both are 10-15 goals a season strikers in the Championship.Rather have Bamford over McBurnie? Can you forward that to our managerPalace fan here.
I've had a few thoughts on this for a while, since as I posted on another thread Jairo was a bit of a cult favourite of ours.
But I've just seen those GD/minute stats, and... wow. Those stats with Jairo on the pitch, if accurate, are not just play-off form... thats automatic promotion form.
And yet a lot of people are complaining that he doesn't look that great as a midfielder - not mobile enough etc.
So heres the thing. I look at Jairo, and I still don't really see a midfielder dropping back. I see a defender stepping forward. Thats where he spent his career with us, and thats why he was signed by us - as a footballing centre-back in a back 3.
So my very limited opinion about whats happening - with Jairo on the pitch, you are almost playing with a back 3 already. And with the other defenders being so young, Jairos experience is really helping them out.
And when you replace him with a midfielder late on, its almost like your formation is totally changing, and in an attacking way - you are losing a defender, gaining a midfielder. And then your defence seems to crumble.
Dunno if this makes sense.
