Intake Blade - Just want you to know that you nicked my username! This was my username on all Blades sites between 1998 - 2012! I'm happy for the legend to live on though as I create a new one :p

As in "Intake's Team For The Weekend" and Crouchy's legendary, "Who gives a f**k what you think?" post after defeat at Charlton? And who I once called Retake Blade?

Viewpoints - them were t'days!

Housemartins over Def Leopard all day for me, wouldn't be seen dead in a leather jacket with long greasy hair !
What about in a leather jacket with long, beautifully coiffured hair, with a high heeled, drop dead gorgeous rock chick on each arm?

No? fair enough then, if you prefer the dungareed, monkey boot type. each to their own... ;)

Forgot about "Intakes Team For The Weekend"used to drive me mad. Especially as he was only about 14 at the time. Wouldn't have said it to his face. His dad was a big fucker.

Blammo! / Speedy contained a few Blades.
Can't fault the Housemartins. Much of the political stuff on London 0.... and The People Who.... Certainly is poignant now.

Seem to recall a track called/mentioning Cherry Street...'she lives on Cherry Street'

Shortly after school I once found myself on some government scheme with two Members of Blammo/Speedy...think one of em was making their sleeves at the time...car themes...Blades both...

Tannoy system needs an upgrade at some point, speaker near where we sit used to cut out a lot, not as much this season though

If you are suggesting that the club should invest money in improving facilities, or on anything other than a centre-half (or other playing position)... you will need to get yourself a tin hat and prepare for a numerous post, invective thread..

Blammo did have a song called Cherry Street - they were introduced at a match once and gave the impression they were all Blades. The reality was that Moony (the bass player is a Blade & still goes to games but singer, Phil from Birmingham and supported Brum, drummer Bronwen followed Arsenal, their late guitarist Trace was a Villa fan, and Paul the keyboard player didn't like football. That's cleared that one up!

Was Norman Cook (fat boy Slim) in the Housemartins? Think he's a Brighton fan.

On the Paul Heaton link we could always go for the Beautiful South and when we've won the next 9 games Gary Sinclair could play 'Perfect 10'.

He did actually, when we won 10 on the spin in all competitions under Clough, March 2014.

Blammo.... crikey I remember them now!!!....saw them a couple of times..

Didn't know the Tracey had passed ..
Was that recent?

I think we need to change our playlist completely pre match. There too many songs that are just irrelevant and are just chosen out of a hat. Let's be proud of Sheffield Music and play songs that were created in Sheffield. One thing I respect Manchester United for is that there playlist was incredible when we went over there last season. Stone Roses -> Joy Division -> The Charlatans (all Manchester Bands). We could do something similar like Def Leopard -> Heaven 17 -> Pulp, followed by our traditional 'Countdown to KO'. Music has to be relevant at Football Games IMO and I liked the fact Yazz was played after the game yesterday. Let's adopt this and I think the majority of blades will be proud and satisfied! UTB

That would cause uproar amongst the "thermos flask and cucumber sandwich brigade" on the south stand :D

You are so young and naive.

We are the Hendricks generation who shagged in the mud and fought on the pitch.

You lot cry if the sink is blocked and the central heating isn't working.

Just because you're old doesn't mean you haven't lived.

By the way, you can smoke dried cucumber!

Got to be three or four years ago now. He'd been living in America - came back and we met up with him again but his health wasn't great. Still a massive shock when I learned he'd died. He played in our band (Bendy Monsters) when he quit Speedy. A good bloke was Trace.

You must sit on The Kop then?.......You ever wondered why it goes quieter on The Kop during then second half? It's because most are passively stoned whilst stood queuing up for a pie and a pint at half time :D

The South has it's fair share of rebels though.....I once sat close to a bloke who smuggled in a shop bought pack of fruit pastilles....I know, heavy shit!:)

They could never be blue...

If you've never heard it, then you need to listen.

Paul Heaton, even with his angelic choir boy vocals, makes it clear where he stands. You can almost hear him spitting out "they could never be blue".

A proper Blade who supported us when we were shit. I didn't agree with his Ched views, but some of my mates had an odd take on it too. Anyone who drops everything to play TC's testimonial when we are a very shit Division 2 side, is fine in my book.

Joe Elliot? Maybe he was a Blade, but he's been watching the socca on LA Channel 15 with a Bud in hiis hand for 30 years. Tax dodging wanker!

Joe Elliott has lived in Ireland for years. Up the coast from Howth.

Joe Elliot, Paul Heaton, Joe Cocker and Dave Berry were/are all Blades....some of the others mentioned, such as the Longpigs, are erm pigs....

'Stop feeling blue...'

I seem to think Dee Boyle is a Blade (and I wouldn't argue with him..) and now lives in S7.
Hawley is a pig.. I think the others from Tree Bound story were too.
One of The Arctic Monkeys was a Blade, but can't remember which one. The others all pigs.
Milburn are right pigs with corporate boxes.
Syd from Sheffield's one and only psychobilly band 'The Zyclones' was a United season ticket holder, though at least three of their hard core fans went onto the OCS, two of whom are now dead.
That bird from Funky worm went to Abbeydale, and that was a hard core Blades school.

Looks like any half decent Sheffield play list would involve pig fan bands..

Ps- I remember the half time entertainment at TC's testimonial consisting of The Sharp Cuts, The Housemartins and Black Lace. They built a stage on the John St stand terrace. The Sharp cuts weren't into football, Housemartins you know about and I've no idea about who Black Lace support!

Cherry picked Supergroup it is then...with the bloke from Black Lace on lead vocal...Aaaaaaaa-Gaasaaaaa-
