Hollybank road towards Normanton hill. I used to use the chinese chippy on Alnwick before the healthy eating bore.

I prefer Pulp to housemartins. Even if Jarvis is a scruffy pig fan!

Def Leppard are utter garbage and a stain on an otherwise impressive musical legacy for the city of Sheffield.

Agree about getting a bit of Housemartins played on the tannoy.

Also, we need a new tannoy.
Why the fuck are they a stain on our musical legacy?

Let's set up mini mountains, lakes and deserts around the perimeter of the pitch for Michael Palin to navigate before KO. And then replace the funereal version of GCB with something more uplifting by Richard Hawley.

No just the music;)

This is what I was thinking of, he never actually murdered anyone, my mistake!

"..Hugh Whitaker (born 18 May 1961, Hull) is the former drummer for the British indie rock band The Housemartins. In 1993, Whitaker was sent to prison for six years for assaulting former business associate James Hewitt with an axe and setting fire to his house on three occasion..."

and Sean Bean parachuting in from an exploding Black Hawk helicopter gun-ship half way through the second half would certainly perk the atmosphere up a bit too.

Actually he could fall into a haystack in the centre-circle and emerge wrestling in the nude with Lady Chatterley.

No ones got any damned vision anymore.

I noticed after the Chelsea game, the first track on the tannoy was One Step Beyond by Madness. Appropriate since Suggs is a Chelsea fan. It got me thinking though, why do we never play The Housemartins at the Lane? Paul Heaton is probably our most prominent "musician" fan, and with tunes like Happy Hour and Caravan of Love they have tunes that could really stir the crowd. Come on Gary - stick some on!

No to Paul Heaton from me

Whether you like it or not Leppard and Joe Cocker are the only worldwide true great music acts to come out of Sheffield.

Joe Elliott is a Blade through to his heart. Christ, he played in TC's testimonial with Besty - it doesn't come better than that.

We could always have Joe Cocker and Family Cookin' - You Can Do Heroin. Or Lynn Cocker - I never promised you a pint of Scotch!

I'm torn with Paul Heaton, met him a couple if times and he was a genuinely nice guy. I don't like his politics though and although I dislike some of his lyrics I like the songs and his voice so it's a tough one.

Always thought happy hour or old red eyes should be sang by our fans. I like The greasy chip butty version on the Shoreham boot boys album too, I think it should be sang like that.

Likewise I don't agree with some of Paul Heaton's politics but I don't get this sudden hatred of him because of his stance over Ched. The whole saga divided the fans and at least a proper Blade like PH made his stance for himself out of principle rather than doing what he was told.

Makes me smile how certain Blades are lauded when they have done some less than desirable stuff in the past, but take a stand on Ched and you're the enemy.

Prefer Beautiful South to Housemartins personally.

Joe Elliot, Paul Heaton, Joe Cocker and Dave Berry were/are all Blades....some of the others mentioned, such as the Longpigs, are erm pigs....

'Stop feeling blue...'
