Gonna resurrect this thread.

What is exactly the law regarding the ref stopping a game only for a head injury ?

I thought this was introduced a few seasons back to keep the game flowing. If it is still the current law then it’s absolutely dead in the water. Another example of the football authorities making up a law and having no fucking idea how to implement it.

I don’t know what the head injury rules are, but I like the rule about getting medical treatment on the pitch. I actually think the 30 seconds off the pitch rule for any player who has treatment from the trainer (except the keeper) has worked pretty well at stopping some time-wasting. It sometimes seems harsh when somebody has been absolutely clobbered, and then has to also play with 10 men for 30 seconds, but overall the rule change has had a positive impact. You see a lot more players just get up who would definitely have spent some time lying down, chatting to the physio wasting seconds and slowing the game down last season.

Noticed the last couple of games that refs are now able to do a quick assessment of a head Injury's seriousness based on what shirt the player is wearing and how much he cost
Although this is in direct contravention of the rules its an amazing ability

and then you get 10 minutes (slipping past the 100 min mark with add ons) extra time if you are losing and playing Sheffield United.

No, it's against the rules to play without a goalkeeper so goalkeepers can't be forced to leave the pitch after injury.

I mean that they can't be made to leave the field for 30 seconds after having treatment. If they are fit to play on, then they must be on the pitch and ready for play before play restarts.

In any case, I don't think the ref can order a concussion sub, can he?

Nothing in football laws to enforce the sub. The play will be stopped with it being a keeper but if he was ok he could have stayed on the pitch
