The disallowed goal...

Watching it in real time last night I thought Clarke shoved the defender before heading the ball in and billy scored unnaturally (midriff maybe)although

Clarke leans over the defender, who probably "helps" a bit by not trying very hard to remain upright (maybe even gives Clarke a shirt tug on the referee's blind side?). Nevertheless, Clarke does give the referee a legitimate reason to award them a free kick. Not trying to be trendy or clever, and if I was in the stands I would have been angry as well.

Saw this one real time and could understand why it was given... Though seen many get away with similar.

Leon had eyes on the ball though and the defender didn't end up going to ground to either. Soft as shit decision and you rarely see them punished unless the ref is a jumped up little hitler from dingle town.

Even in slow motion, it's impossible to decide for certain whether there's contact between the ball and hand or not.

We should ask the guy just behind the goal:

I think that ref was brought up in a convent and beleaves goalkeepers are honest ,no way could the ref see handball from his angle that means he guest
and the goalkeeper appealing vigorous ly led him to beleave it was handball. He definately saw no evil in most things Walsall did .Just watched the highlights and Wilder was right we should have had 3 or 4 cert pens but this ref saw no evil at all ,I bet he doasnt even swear in men only company, not saying there's anything clever about swearing but you get my drift ! !.

Billy handled it, no question about it. (I had a perfect view of it from behind the goal.)

In saying that, how the ref could tell is another thing entirely.

Who do we beleave you or the player stating he didn't handle it ,only people who can have seen it properly were right behind the goal is that
Where you sit Alfie ?.any others see it clearly ?

I must say that was a passionate interview by Wilder ,players can't help but give it there best when your manager shows that kind of passion
I could sense the frustration in his voice, he's a blade. !!!

I should really have put an IMO in there. Just saying it as I saw it - I'm directly behind the goal (to the left) about a third of the way back.

Fair play, we all see things as we see them. To me he was reaching & reaching, extending his arm out beside his upper body & it seemed to hit him on the upper arm. All instantaneous.

Anyway, all water under the bridge now.

The ref looked unsighted, but the linesman, who had exactly the same view as we did, didn't signal, so he clearly thought there was no handball.

Out of three of us, one went for handball, one went for no handball and I couldn't really tell :-)

And to think that you used to be indecisive ;)
