Isn't that about as far as you'll be from the Lane next time United are at home? :D

Another thing too, take this weekend we have at home the local teams of ........................
Sheffield Utd
Rotherham Utd
Barnsley
Chesterfield
Huddersfield

Next weekend will see the pigs at home along with Doncaster seems like they are sure to pick up the floating support, this happens time and time again over the years.

You're getting the hang of this support thing. I'll get you there.

What p*sses me off about Wendy, and it's been touched on already, is that they think they're absolutely poles apart from us in terms of club history, stadia, attendences etc. They're so deluded it's embarrassing. The cold hard facts is that there is not much difference between either club at all. The league and cup records are very similar. The divisions we've been in, apart from, dare i mention it, the 4th Division. Average attendences, especially in recent years, have been very similar, and the grounds are of similar size too, both with a very unique character and feel to them. Bramall Lane has just been developed a lot more over recent years. So if i can see all that, why can't a pig? They're so blinkered in their views. Which is the exact reason i'm so proud to be a blade. We're realistic. Blades are honest in their views. They call a pig a pig, when they would call a pig their beautiful wife. Unitedites don't try dressing things up, whilst Wendyites are forever papering over the cracks with their unsubstantiated rhetoric. Often found judging incoherently on football heaven. UTB.

Great post and similar reasons why I am glad to be Red, White and realistic.

That's what's good about them. It should be our job to make them look like a bunch of twats. Fortunately for us, they save us the bother.

Was listening to Talksport on the way home from Yeovil when a Pig came on. Didn't want to talk about the defeat but mentioned they were a massive club in the championship and said in the early 90's when they were in the top league they often got 40k crowds. He then went on to mention that the crowd they got on Saturday was ok but they were used to over 30k every week when they were in the top league. I nearly crashed the car laughing

That is all they talk about when they are losing matches.

Half of them ignore the results and start talking about the good old days of MASSIVE attendances at the pond.

USA Owl on praise or Grumble;

"It's a praaaaise, for the ooooowls, totally aaaaaaawsome. We sell our awaaaaaay allocation every weeeeeeeeek"

Comedy gold and complete prick, in one nice parcel.

Normal service has resumed!!!

Doesn't look like they're going to win another one anytime soon either.

I always thought they had nothing but luck the back end of last season. Obviously, as we lost our best striker for years at the worst possible time. Also, the games they had, especially the Wycombe game when they could only muster a last minute winner. Just look how awful Wycombe are now. They even carried their luck through to this season, managing to sneak a few winners in the last minute. I know a wins a win, but you can't get away with those 'get out of jail' goals forever. Now they've come unstuck. The confidence has gone, but more importantly, so has their luck. On the flipside of that, our luck hasn't changed for the better yet. When it does, we'll be further up the league. UTB

I remember reading something in the Star by i think Les Payne years ago.

He said Unitedite's always think that the glass is half empty, the glass is dirty, will be empty soon and not be filled up again, whilst Wednesdayites think the glass is half full, will soon get filled up again and is a beautiful glass.

he also said that the grunters would cheerfully turn up to watch the grass grow they didn't like that they already think their grass is massive

They smell of shit.
Those that are capable of talking (not many), talk shit.
Their ground is a great, steaming pile of shit that can be smelt from the M1.

:D

seriously.. we admit when we are being honest that we are similar teams in terms of size, stature and achievements and both have periods of dominance and decline.. a quick check of the stats will verify this
but they..
seem to think they are Liverpool or something

Talk to any Pig at the minute and he/it will say that the current 6 game losing streak is just a blip and that they will be in the Premiership next season.

But don't ever fall in to the mistake of calling one of them up on one of their delusions as the only comeback your'll get from a pig is "we're a massive club that deserve to be in the Premiership".

Just nod and smile or ignore and walk away.

One of the perks of being a Blade is that we as a collective are somewhat level headed, we know we're shite, we all know that "today" is not "the day" and we all understand that whatever the good times be bring, the next kick in the nuts is just around the corner.

You had a choice? My Mum, Dad and Grandad had us kids dressed in red and white from birth. The Catholic church couldn't have indoctrinated us better.
LOL - thankfully yes I did - being from Bradford, I'm a 'convert'. My family were Bradford Park Ave, but due to their demise in 1974, I was effectively brought up football neutral. Hence my decision to be a Blade...moreover, I'm also a 'convert' by choice to Catholicism too and can assure you the Church didn't indoctrinate me. C'est la vie!

We judge ourselves by our intentions, but others by their actions.

Nearly all football fans are deluded - it's part of what makes being a football fan great. When I sing "we're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen", I truly mean it! I think everything about the Blades is true, honest and salt of the earth. Everything about the Pigs is evil, superiority-filled and uneducated. Read one of their message boards and you'll see exactly the same point in reverse.

Enjoy it! There aren't many areas in life in which we can be so partisan. And, as it happens, Sheffield United ARE the greatest team the world has ever seen.

How a team can be massive when their go to song is about a result in division 3, against a team that fell into division 4 within 17 months off that game, is mind boggling, its hardly winning in europe is it, or even winning a title
