How you expect players perform in front of a nervous edgy shit scared stadium like that I'll never know
I've been very vociferous in defending the support in the past but today it cost us the game
That ref was giving them sift decisions all game that doesn't happen in front of a hostile crowd
Just wrong sorry but ya wrong but it’s sll about opinions

Is this the new trend? Refusing to see that it was entirely the team and manager's fault for today and instead direct the blame to the fans? Jesus wept get a grip.

Yes, it's what the poor gullible fools do, rather than open their eyes and see the problem, they pick on 26,000 people who are obviously all clones of each other, and who have all decided to support Sheffield United. Quite uncanny really.

Absolute clown. Of course we were nervous ffs it was a high pressured game that we bottled

Other clubs are shit so it’s fine lads.

What are you doing to try and make it better?

I know I’ve asked you that before but you ignored me the first time around.

Bramall Lane's been like this for over a decade now so why the great surprise? Frankly, why is this thread worthy OP? This is Sheffield United now, like it or lump it. Its not as if Wilder, Sharp and a team massively overachieving should elicit anything special from the Blades faithful, or am I wrong? UTB!

You’d be amazed how much difference it makes when a few joined in.

Here’s our Chris with a quick reminder - https://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foo...ivers-a-vital-message-to-supporters-1-9648680

I genuinely don’t understand why some take such umbrage at the OP, rage on here like life is over at the smallest setback but yet appear so apathetic / impotent in the ground. Don’t get it.

Yeah but my point is that you can’t be doing that much if the atmosphere is still so terrible. Maybe you should try something else or at least try harder.

Here we go its the fans fault rather than the bottlers on the pitch phuck me
Like I implied before - why does "you only sing when you're winning" become an instruction when we're at home and a challenge when we're away.
When did supporting your team become reward based instead of something you do more of when the poor fuckers need it most ???????? :(

Don’t blame the people who went. Blame the cunts who stayed away.

I never notice the crowd noise. I too busy shouting the lads on. Maybe if the “crowd watchers” stopped watching the crowd and got more into the game. Maybe you might enjoy the BDTBL experience more.

We all watch our football in different ways. So stop criticising the crowd.

The Lane’s gone mate. :(

Let's just be honest.... management, players, fans, whatever. We're a spineless football club. Spinelessness feeds even more spinelessness. It just goes on and on and on.

I've seen more than enough now and it's hard to reach any other conclusion.

Sheffield United's failure to achieve par in the last 50 years blamed on fans part 1,278

When did we become so snivelling?

“We were rough & ready guys, but oh how we could harmonise” :(

I haven’t read the entire thread but after our goal the crowd was very good and then we retreated to the edge of our own box. How is that explained ?

Yes indeed, it sort of makes a mockery of the posts slagging off our fans and blaming them.
The Birmingham fans also said we were excellent. I'd imagine we were even more excellent just after Stevens scored, but it didn't stop us giving away an equaliser almost immediately

To be honest even when we were under the cosh the crowd rallied. A crowd can only do so much and then when they realise the players are out on their feet it’s just hope they’ve got and it’s the hope that kills you. Against fucking Millwall.

Most of the crowd were struck dumb when Wilder sent on Cranie instead of Hogan and changing the shape despite us playing very well as we were.
Our spineless capitulation was down to the manager's tactics & the players performance.
Not the crowd.
We looked on in silent fury as the equaliser became inevitable.

Yeah that's the one area where I agree with OP. Don't like the attitude that you pay your money and turn up and wait for something to cheer for. People make out like making noise when the team is struggling is as difficult as playing football at Championship level.
Having said that I don't think this was the worst the crowd has been and the cautious play was hard to swallow. I noticed after the penalty miss obviously the crowd was louder and the players looked more up for it but neither lasted more than 2 or 3 minutes. Either way you look at it its sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy, I just think its easier to break out of that cycle via the fans. But then crowd psychology, maybe its no so easy to solve.
