The crowd

Most of the crowd were struck dumb when Wilder sent on Cranie instead of Hogan and changing the shape despite us playing very well as we were.
Our spineless capitulation was down to the manager's tactics & the players performance.
Not the crowd.
We looked on in silent fury as the equaliser became inevitable.
Same again then.
We support 'OUR' team until something happens that we don't like and then we all fuck off into a sulk!
I'm not saying we have to LIKE everything - but surely most amongst us must be able to work out when the players on the pitch need support from the terraces most?
Blades away usually manage it pdq!

Crowd was poor in the first half, decent in the second half.

Then as expected a handful of folk in the crowd turned into complete cunts at the final whistle.

The silence when Millwall scored was a really horribly memorable moment like the relegation game ending moment v Wigan. I was shaking. I am glad I was there as part of my Blade for life story and at the same time reflecting once again on the cursed blades. On reflection reckon it will be better watching united compete and win in some thrilling competitive champ games next season than seeing us being hammered by overpaid wankers in the prem.

Why oh why do we attract these wankers.

Same folk that go round spouting shite like “Same owd United” and the like, even though it’ll be on the back of a 2-1 defeat after winning our last ten. It’s all very tiring and often makes me wonder why they bother to even show up - clearly get very little joy out of watching us.

Wilder was trying to be too clever with his substitutions. Altering the shape of team all the time is unnerving for the team and unnerving for us. Call me old fashioned but if you have a choice, like for like substitutions is always preferable than asking players to change position and systems mid way through a game.

I said in another thread, with about 10 minutes to go Stevens was looking to the bench arms outstretched asking what are we supposed to be doing. He got no response from what I could see.

Wasn't that right after the penalty miss i.e. how are we reorganising?

Based on the highlights of their goal, the answer is we aren't. Millwall had a man more than us in the box, and the person covering at the back post was Norwood. Where was Freeman?

The team has got to within a cunt hair of the premierleague

I don't know about anything else but I definitely think we should adopt your units of measurement.

I might have to nip out in a bit because I've only got half a nipple of Weedol left and about 12 bollocks of garden to weed...……….

Appalling today
How you expect players perform in front of a nervous edgy shit scared stadium like that I'll never know
I've been very vociferous in defending the support in the past but today it cost us the game
That ref was giving them sift decisions all game that doesn't happen in front of a hostile crowd
The atmosphere was weird yesterday. So much tension in the stands. The ranters and ravers I sit amongst were quieter than I've ever heard them. Myself even after 4 pints just couldn't get a head of steam up. It's a Blades thing. We are perennial underachievers. Not won a major honour in nearly a hundred years, not won a major semi in over eighty years. Four seasons in the top flight in over forty years, and one top three finish in over a hundred years. Puts things into perspective. Considered amongst the best and most vociferous fans in the country but seems that the air of pessimism is just getting to us.
But 2 seasons ago we were in Division 1, last season mid table in the Championship, this season in the play offs, at least. So maybe there is a steady progression. I think we'll still be in the Championship next season so hope the clowns running the club start to open the purse strings or get out and get in someone who will.

By the way weren't the pig fans at Leeds pathetic.

Bramall Lane's been like this for over a decade now so why the great surprise? Frankly, why is this thread worthy OP? This is Sheffield United now, like it or lump it. Its not as if Wilder, Sharp and a team massively overachieving should elicit anything special from the Blades faithful, or am I wrong? UTB!
Practically every team in the league are like this.

Let's just be honest.... management, players, fans, whatever. We're a spineless football club. Spinelessness feeds even more spinelessness. It just goes on and on and on.

I've seen more than enough now and it's hard to reach any other conclusion.
Can't disagree with that. Just imagine if the club had ambitious and wealthy backers rather than the two clowns we have now.

So all the improvements made to the team and the club by CW and AK and the owners since Adkins and before have been a waste of time in your opinion.
So fuck off somewhere else Chris and Al - we just want Mr Chansiri and his big bucks.
Nothing else will do for us

While I agree the atmosphere is poor, I don't think it's just a Sheffield United problem.

There are loads of different factors. Rising ticket prices are one definitely, no doubt there are fans at every club who are priced out of going to games, admittedly our pricing is fair in comparison to others. No standing as well, it's no suprise at virtually every ground in the country away fans make more noise.

Even things like mobiles and in-play betting, the amount of people I see who are more interested in tracking their bets or recording elements of the match rather than actually pay attention to the match and support their team.

Sorry if I'm covering old ground as I haven't read the full thread, but I think the issue with atmosphere is a problem that most if not all clubs are struggling with and one I'm not sure can be resolved any time soon.

Goldfish brains in abundance on here when it comes to this topic.
