like a lot of blades i think we've blown a glorious chance to be in a comfortable position, but it's still in our hands.
remember coventry at home david holdsworth last minute,or forest in play offs 2-0 down - the crowd really made a difference.if united want to go up then yes we need to win all our home games, but we need the crowd to make some real noise.maybe united need to let everyone in for a quid or similiar for the last few games, maybe we get a few more descenting voices but not if we're winning.at the minute we need 9 wins from 9 but this will change each week and i would have settled for second at this stage.let's kick on again blades make some noise and get ready for more nail biting, after all if we won every game we'd have nothing to talk about in the boozer

Amen. The atmosphere on Saturday was deathly just when we need to give the players a boost.

The club should provide discounted ale to get people feeling more positive. Where's that suggestions box? :)

I thought the crowd started off great on Saturday, but then the nerves set in and you could almost feel the tension. The sentiment is great, but whether it will happen is another matter. A Ched hattrick in the first 15 mins would help :)

Well said sir!
The amount of difference a noisy Bramall Lane can make is huge, we should definitely be aiming for 100% home form until the end of the season, moaning and groaning is not going to help matters at all!
When all is said and done, it's Sheffield United and we can never do things the easy way, it's gonna be a bumpy ride but we can see this through
COYRAWWW!

I thought the same on sat. Not heard the crowd start like that for quite a while. Nine scrappy 1-0 wins will do for me.

4 games left £60 the lot half price kids and oaps. Plus £10 voucher for the superstore if we shift 5000 of them .

Iv e said it before, fans that bring nothing but doubt and negativity to games set the mood for the players
All the fans that moan and see nothing but doom are the ones transferring it straight to the team
If we dont go up , they can blame themselves for bringing it on themselves, so lets lighten up

;)Hang on, I thought that the absence of Prem glory supporters, whingers and NRS meant BDTBL was going to be like La Bombonera this season ??But you're right btl once the players get jammed the extra pressure from the crowd weighs even heavier on their shoulders.

Glossop - good stuff, but Brown scored a lucky deflected free kick immediately after Forest's second. That lifted the crowd, I don't think there was an immediate uplifiting response fronm the crowd when Reid scored.

One thing that is hilarious about this idea that we are not winning because of the crowd is that United have lead in the last 2 home games - getting the crowd behind them -and proceeded to concede soft goals and let the oppostion back in. The crowd was not on their back during either game at the relevant point.

I do wish people would stop blaming supporters for the failings of the team.

If this set of players cannot beat one of Oldham and Tranmere from a winning position with half a game gone they have no one to blame but themselves.

How dare you Rev?

Surely if Arthur Skankmantle (KOP BB 165) had picked that bloke up from the corner on Saturday we'd have pissed it. Not to mention the game changing own goal by Graham Lagertop (South Stand D 97) against Oldham.
Fucking fans, fancy taking all that money out of the club and not delivering the goods. Cunts, the lot of 'em.

Spot on - this idea that it's the fans fault is ludicrous. As some have said, the atmosphere at the start on Saturday was excellent - and the fans kept it up for quite a while too. Unfortunately, this appeared to have no effect at all on the team - and it was our worst start to a home game for weeks. The support at Colchester and Walsall was good too - but again this had little effect.

>and you could almost feel the tension
almost??

you were at a different game from me then.. quinn misplaced a pass at 1-0 and it was all 'tha's done it naar quinn.. gerrit dahn't field'

noone is but they are saying the fans aren't helping.. interestingly our away form seems to be better than our home form over the last few games.. coincidence?

No, it's the same. W1 D1 L1 over the last 3 games both home and away.

yeah but we played colchester and brentford away.. not oldham and tranmere..
in fact .. 'whatever dude' as the kids say

You’re right Glossop, the crowd can make a big difference in spurring the team to a last foray. But the crowd has also been blamed in the past for giving the negative vibes. I dispute both of these over an entire game.

The fact is, as Revolution say. The team need to be professional and go at it on the pitch. We need some creativity down there and we’ve not seen enough of it since Macca got injured. Not saying that he is the complete answer, we need to be able to bypass him when teams man mark him and bring in the wingers.

I agree that we need fans to attend, but dropping the prices won’t help that much if the product isn’t up to scratch as well. They won’t come back.

We all know how loud things can get at the lane when the fans want to get noisy. Even with 17k the fans can make enough noise to spur on the team when we are pressing for a late goal, but again the fitness and delivery into the box needs to also be right up there.

7 minutes on the board also has the same effect!

The club should reduce prices to a tenner for remaining home games. I'm not a season ticket holder and it might piss some of them off but lets fill the ground, raise the roof and for once all get fully behind the lads and bring us home in the top 2.

my point was how can we create an atmosphere like the fore mentioned games?ultimately it comes from the performance on the pitch but when the lane is full and rocking no team wants to play us i'd just like to see that for the run in.maybe veron fancies a few games in red&white

Hmmm it might indeed piss some off- loyal fans (my arse) expecting to get in for a tenner...

How often do you hear the crowds the 12th man, even Jones saying how having the fans 100 per cent behind them urged them on at Notts county.
Some of our fans are mKing it like we've had a man sent off

Hmmm we took 7,000 to Palace and it did f all to help the team.... probably because we had Ward and Craig BT up front

I think the issue of fans loyalty and how big a blade you are has been long debated on here and wasn't my point. The fact remains that some people will go to every game regardless of price, league position, opposition, personal circumstances. Some will pick and choose for a number of reasons and yes some will only go for a big game, cheap tickets etc. I make about 15 - 20 home games and a few away each season due to work, cash etc and don't get a season ticket. If I did have one, I wouldn't give a shit if for the last few home games the club made it a tenner and lots of my mates who are season ticket holders couldn't give a shit either.

If you are a 'loyal' season ticket holder what does it say about your loyalty if you are against the club trying to fill the ground to push us home, just because you have already paid your price and someone might get a couple of games for cheaper than you? I imagine season ticket holders do get pissed off at deals throughout the season but i'm sure on the whole they pay less than us non loyal, part time scum bags who have to work most saturdays.

i have a ST and i think it's a great idea.. i tend not to represent the majority though :D

In my experience of watching the Blades, the bigger the crowd & more vociferous our support, the more the team under-perform & let us down. Perhaps we should boo them on?

Am I the only one that would like the myth of fans being anything other than human to be exploded. When the team are doing well, forget which team it is the fans are up and singing. When the team are not playing well/underperforming the goings on the pitch transmit to the stands, not the other way around.

I have never believed fans of any club are any better than any other. Our fans are the same. If shits being served up then we switch off/close down. We are no more negative than anyone else. I remember when we were wobbling along at home to Port Vale and Oxford in the famous Bassett promotion season the crowd was shitting itself along with the players. Thanks to Deano/ a skanky own goal it changed in an instant in each game.

If the players need the crowd to get them up and at em then theres a big problem. If they come out the traps 100mph and giving it 100 percent then the crowd will follow. End of.
