Just heard our Jeff say on Sky Sports that, as it stands, there is a very good possibility that Accrington Stanley will be promoted.
My first thought was, "great, a new ground and 6 easy points to come"
Then the reality struck.
I suddenly thought that Accrington Stanley could come to BDTBL and quite feasibly do a 'Burton' on us next season.
And I will find it hard to 'show them all the respect they deserve' if they do make monkeys out of us because we should never, ever have been in that position in the first place.
5 twatting years (so far) in this poor, poor league and even though we might well recruit the necessary players this summer and piss the league, you know what, the fact of the matter is that I am, at this moment in time already looking at next season and worrying that we will lose, at home, to Accrington Stanley.
How on earth did that happen?

We can drink milk and wait for another false dawn next season . Good job nothing this season has been Mr Motivator Adkins fault .

If we lose to Accrington Stanley it'll be on merit. If they piss the league it'll be on merit.

As far as I'm concerned, a big part of getting out of this division is accepting the reality of where we are, not lamenting about where we think we should be.

I take your point TD. I've grudgingly accepted that we are where we deserve to be and that AS are and will be where they deserve to be.
What I find hard to fathom is how the f and why the f it was allowed to happen?
Their 'compact ground' (capacity 5,000) enjoys being a third full with average attendances of 1,718 yet they can achieve the same football league status that we've enjoyed for the last 5 years.
What an absolutely piss-poor period in the history of our club.

I suppose you could start by asking McCabe why £1 million plus was spent on the pitch instead given to Adkins to buy players...does seem a bit 'previous'...

Funnily enough we were commenting Today on what good nick the pitch is in at this stage of the season.

Given our plight it's a classic case of fur coat and no knickers.

I guess he thought he would spend wisely and therefore not need it....

Been keeping an eye on Accrington Stanley, hoping they'll get promoted and thinking I'll go to the away game, but hadn't thought about them beating us at Bramall Lane. Well Fleetwood and Burton have beaten us at 'fortress' Bramall Lane so why not Accrington, who after them.... Alfreton Town, Stalybridge Celtic, Matlock, Stocksbridge Park Steels............

Wages on the ridiculously over paid Sammon, Hammond, Woolford I presume.

Think this has been done but Woolford was rejected by Millwall and will not be on much ( as a back up/replacement for Murphy, Hammond..who knows maybe he's on a lot maybe not, we wouldn't pay what Leicester asked..Sammon, probably brought in by Brannigan/Clough and probably one of the higher earners.

Adkins bought one player..rather than spend 'the FA cup money' on the pitch, don't you think we'd have been wiser buying up 3-4-5 new players such as Morsy ( who apparently wanted to come here for awhile ) and sort the playing side out before the pitch?

It's these delusions of grandeur that are keeping us in this league.

Totally Esa.
I guess he was that confident we'd go up that he didn't think we'd need the extra mill.
Egg and face spring to mind :)
