This really isn't based on the outcomes of tonight. But who would like to see ward get started against wednesday?

Following that, i really don't want to see henderson playing for us again. I've never liked him that much, not entirely fault but hes the cause of switching to boring football and hoofing it forward.

I think with, Ward, Lupoli and Webber (Maybe Sharp) Weve got a good passing and pacey attack, and with howard, quinny and halford in form we can really start to attack defenses properly because the men at the back are doing there job!.

I agree we will be less inclined to 'hoof' it forward without a big-man like Hendo and perhaps with Webber/Ward/Lupoli we have some pace up top but Blackie needs to chose his best two and give them a run. It's pointless chopping and changing all the time because they'll never form a partnership.

I also believe that when on form, our midfield has the potential to become rather ruthless and yes 'creative'. I believe in Howard we have the potential to tick that elusive 'creative' midfielder we have so long been craving and with people like Squinny, Hendrie, Cotts and of course Lord Monty we can cope in other areas of the midfield.

Don't get me wrong, we are far from perfect but there's hope.

That said, as soon as his suspension is completed Hendo will be back in and we will be back to square one with the ball dancing with the clouds again.

Am I missing something? Ward's only scored 1 for us and as for Lupoli, has he even worn our shirt yet?

Now let me explain my selection.

The back four pick themselves, solid against the Saints and no other options really in the middle.

The strikeforce and midfield are interchangable.

The midfield can form a three, a four or a five:

This can be very useful. It can allow us to control the midfield with the five. It also allows one of the forward wide men, Webber and Ward, do drop deep to collect depending on which wing the play is directed down. So if Webber drops in at right mid Ward will push up to form a two with Lupoli, and if Ward drops into left midfield, Webber can push up with Lupoli. This can happen as both Webber and Ward can play as wingers and are good at running at pace. Also two of the central midfield options are capable of playing wide. Halford on the right, Hendrie on the left. Hendrie and Monty provide the steel, with the added extra of Hendrie being able to pick out a pass, and having watched Halford last night, he can provide some height in the middle of the park.

I think this could be extremely effective. Quinn and Howard miss out as i think having watched them in midweek, they are not so strong in the tackle which is vital in a Steel City Derby

Yeah. You see him on the line alot shouting instructions to the players. Not every match, but a majority of them.

If we can use the left flank more so than the right, use Lupoli's pace it might put halford to better use for coming onto crosses late and either getting a header on goal or back across the 6 yard box and webber can do what he does best of stabbibg home close range goals ( i say best, just the only place he scores)

Ok I’ve been thinking I should get my badge for a few years I coach under 8's most weeks but I think you’re right I should and will. I’ll have a look into what I need to get it because I know I can play more attractive football than hoof it to the big guy.
I'm not arguing but I agree I do think I could do a job and I needed that push thank's.

I wasn't actually slagging United off at all. I was making a suggestion in a United forum as to ways we could line up. was quite happy with how we played against the Saints with our backs against the wall.

I think if people want to pick at every post to try and find a criticism in everything someone says they can stick to looking at BladesUnited!
