We won't be paying any win bonuses so we will have a reserve of cash come January.

It might also be an idea to start paying the team OTE. So for a loss they get 30% of their weekly salary, a draw 50% and a win 70%. If they finish in the top six they get all all of the 30%s missing from the wins. If they don't get into the top six the money goes to the Children's Hospital.

Also, loanees don't get paid so at least they won't come. We then pay the kids to play and give them PS3s etc if they win.

And if Speed doesn't have them all in for training tomorrow then he really isn't the man for the job either.

Not as daft as it sounds, WW! When we appointed Speed (or substitute any other name, Strachan, Irvine etc. etc.), it was not as if a queue was snaking round their doors for their 'services'.

So, being a 'big, successful businessman' such as McCabe, Gibson etc., is it beyond reason to say to these unemployed blokes who are living on past glories "You'll get £10k a week. If you're not cutting it, you're out. However, if you get us in the Premiership, I'll deposit £5m in your bank account." After all, if these people employ sales reps., similar conditions apply? I know that I've been employed in sales and marketing roles, and that would apply.

A different way of looking at things?

The problem is, that these people will go where the money is better and if they can get guaranteed cash elsewhere then why would they come to us for performance related.... afterall the performance related wouldn't be on the individual performance, it'd be on the team

Ok. So they use prozone stats for eah player and compare them to the Championship average for each position. If you play above average you get OTE 100% for a win, 70% for a draw and 50% for a loss. If you play below average you come in for training every day for 6 hours.

I know that this is not realitistic but players who earn obscene amounts of money for a couple of hours training most days and then not doing their job to the best of their ability shouldn't be earning that money.

This team of players are not interested in being a Blade. Like most players today they are mercenaries who would be off elsewhere given the chance and better money.

I blame Thatcher/Sky/The FA and Bobby Davro.
