I agree we were nowhere near our best today but nobody wins every game (and how boring would that be anyway). I'm confident we'll move on from this and keep pushing on for promotion. Don't know about anyone else but I'm enjoying this so much more than last season. Don't let us get caught in a pig-like trap of being so desperate. Watching the Blades is a roller coaster but, come on, who would have it any other way! COYRAWW

poor pitch ,wind blowing down open side was like the Faroes on a winters day
Isn't that the same for both sides?
No excuses today, Wilder didn't offer any either. I think there was a 'we are too good for these' mentality from our players where as their players fought like their lives depended on it.

Today's performance was reminiscent of everyone of our play off final appearances, hope it's not foreshadowing what's to come next month.

It was the same for both but it was more help to Oxford taking away the passing quality we can play and made judging distance passes erratic zt best...but it was just one of those games where after Coventry where we got into a rhythm we were just off it

Just back from Oxford, and listened to Wilder’s post match interview
They were a poor side and we made em look like a mid Championship side.
When a side with much the better players and squad loses to a side much worse than them, you have to question, the team selection and tactics.
For me, Wilder picked a side to slow play down, and nullify them, rather than, playing to our strengths. We didn’t really have a go until we were one down and we were way too casual in the first half. The tactics of keeping it tight, and then expecting to gain a 1-0 win, with a bit of quality up front, is all well and good against decent opposition. But this lot were there for the taking, if we’d have had a go from the off.
For me O’Hare starts before Brewster, he links much better with Hamer, our bit of class.I know Brewster scored against Wednesdsy and we love him for it, but there’s a reason O’Hare has started in front of him all season.Vini before Choudury all day long for me, if we are looking to get on top of a team.
In the end Wilder just resorted to throwing all his subs on, in the hope of a breakthrough, which didn’t materialise.Wilder has got us into a helluva position, no question, and he deserves much credit for that, but it doesn’t make him above criticism when he gets it wrong.Just for once it would be refreshing when he got things wrong,as he did today,he accepted a bit of the blame for it in his reflections.
I sat in their South Stand, as I couldn’t get a ticket for the away end, and they couldn’t believe their eyes in the first half as we sat back and let them come on to us.They celebrated like it was a Cup final win at the final whistle.

Post that to Wilder Shoreham ! I watched at home frustrated as he'll!
Must have been a difficult watch from a home stand with them celebrating like they had won the cup.
I got the feeling Wilder was a bit subdued ! Maybe having managed them for 250 games he has a soft spot for them.

I too prefer O’Hares pressing to Brewsters more languid approach and O’Hares chaotic unpredictability to Brewster’s discipline, but the fact is Brewster has shown an end product and O’Hare hasn’t. However you just know that no matter what, even if promotion somehow depended upon Wilder NOT selecting Brewster or Cannon, he would select them just to show he was the boss and couldn’t possibly be wrong, ever.

As I didn’t go, I suppose I shouldn’t really comment but I noted wilder bemoaning that we didn’t move the ball fast enough all game. I don’t think you could ever accuse OHare of not moving fast enough. I just hope it’s the last bad day at the office we have.

At least when we lost last season it was against world class players. Oxford are a pub team.
Oxford were fucking garbage, and yes I'm still annoyed about the so called performance, they were there for the taking and putting it bluntly were were shite....rant over!!

You’re telling me we shouldn’t be disappointed in losing to a side like them? Cmon ffs

Any one who has watched us for 10 years plus would know football isn’t that simple. It’s not played on paper.
Last week Coventry were the most in form team and had just thrashed and outclassed an excellent Sunderland side 3-0.
Our fans weren’t confident with some predicting we’d lose but we played them off the path and could have won 5-0.
Then we lose to a team Oxford, who were out of form, that’s what happens in football.

Everytime we’ve been promoted we’ve lost to (on paper) weak opposition.

It was only 2 year ago we lost at home to Rotherham, they were relegated and only 1 the one away game, against us.
We were still promoted that season. The trick is not to judge teams on one off matches, anything can happen.
The fact is we had just won 6 consecutive away games, so it was due to end at some time,

The real test of a good team is to look at the league tables, it shows who the most consistent team are.
Also all teams (even Man City, Liverpool, Real Madrid) have shock defeats, the true test of champions is how they react.
Fortunately we don’t have long to wait, let’s see how we start the game against Millwall.
The pressure is now on, fail to win and we might drop outside the top 2, normally this season when we’re under pressure we win.

Like the man said, games are not won on a coupon, they're won on the pitch. Wilder is hurting like fuck, like we all are given the early Leeds result which no doubt put extra pressure on the team today. Everything considered we are still in the top two with everything to play for, who wouldn't have taken this at the start of the season. Go again Tuesday night at the Lane, a point above Leeds is all we need!!

O’Hare has more assists (6) than anyone else in the squad, plus a couple of goals.

Could always do more, but the “no end product” thing really is a myth.
Yes Agreed. I was using end product in terms of goals.
