The best side doesn't always win the game of football i.e the final and our semi final performance was the most dominant we've ever produced in the play offs. The talking heads on Sky all had us down as the better side on the day in the final and were incredulous when we conspired to lose, but I'm guessing you either know that or WDS is impacting your memory.
As Wilder very often says, it’s all about finding a way to win, and he makes it clear that, in his view, that’s what matters most. When the stakes were at their highest Le Bris and his team found a way to win. They were a goal down but never panicked. They were able to keep their heads and they won, and that’s all that counts.

Excellent.

I do wonder what the big win was for 'the best side' not winning a game of football. I know, it's staying in the same league, because that's where you belong.

When did bassett get any sort of money to spend ,this is a manager who lent sufc £100k from his own pocket to sign brian gayle .Warnock spent a bit wilder alot more !
Brilliant post & a reminder to us all that there are only John Harris & Dave Bassett at the top table in terms of greatest managers - given everything they had to deal with.

Wilder & Warnock aren’t too far behind, but their egos affected their team selections and transfer decision making. But still very good managers.

They were gone when that 2nd went in When var disallowed it ! It was like them scoring a goal and gave them some beleaf .
You might say our play off hoodoo struck again.

That was right before half time. We had the perfect opportunity for the manager to get into them and remind them that they were the better side and to keep doing what they were doing. Instead, Sunderland's manager made a tactical switch (Roberts on for Rigg to stretch the pitch wider, get Burrows facing his own goal and drop Le Fée into the #10 role), we shat the bed (4-4-2 to 4-2-3-1 with the immobile Moore up front)* and Sunderland got what they deserved for taking the game to us and taking their chances.

*The sensible choice at this stage was to bring Seriki on for Brewster and move to a 3-5-2 with Souza in the centre-back role and Hamer in the #10. Never mind.

LOL STUFF
If you can be bothered to waste your time reading past the first line of this stuff
Posted by Wilder surely?

Wilder went to a club LITERALLY the worst in the football league
He had a future England CF
until as he ALWAYS does he sold him for peanuts to bring in journeymen
'to 'build for the future'
HE DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM AS A TALENT
AS HE NEVER DOES
He could have bought him for £6 million when he recovered his career from sitting on his arse at home and started playing again
Instead this brain dead imbecile wasted £30 over 5 season on a Gary Coleman look alike from Liverpool
'because Liverpool have a good academy and their players must be good'
The sort of stupid thing you have to assume if you are brain dead like the imbecile Wilder
That's right £6 million a year for 5 seasons wasted on Brewster
Another £5 million a year for 5 season of McDonkey - the Bud Flanagan of CF's
etc etc etc

The same thing happened of course with DCL.

To paraphrase
'To lose one England CF is unfortunate
To lose two seems like a brain dead imbecile to anyone sane'

Wilder had Seriki RND Arblaster Slater Brooks Iliman Jebbison Osula and others
(not Peck or Lankshear) before he hissifitted off with his parasite scumbag pockets bulging
Who did he pick as the best suited for the Premier League?
That younger lad Hackford whose brother a boxer presumably
'persuaded him his bro could play'
No other reason was apparent apart from the fact he has NO CLUE about forwards.
THE BLOKE IS A IMBECILE
That was after the moronic giveaways of better talent like Ramsdale, Ben Whiteman, Che Adams, DCL, ignoring David Brookes who did at least transfer to the Prem for a significant fee
(again after one underused season BUT ONLY after starring as player of the tournament in Touluse when the imbecile Wilder had already arranged for him to leave for 5th division bound Chesterfield)

Wilder is without doubt the WORST manager in the history of SUFC
If YOU cannot see it - even after watching the insane tactics of the past three disastrous seasons -
It is only because you are equally dense.
THE BEST CROP OF TALENT IN (expected life) LIVING MEMORY of SUFC
WASTED
UNRECOGNIZED (by Wilder)
DISCARDED FOR PEANUTS
I can tell you now - I doubt very much even with the money to be invested in CAT 1 AS OUTLINED WEEKS AGO IN THE SHEFFIELD TELEGRAPH
DO NOT EXPECT such a good crop soon.
For anyone let alone their WORST JUDGE Wilder.

THIS WEEK SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE REBIRTH OF SUFC
The end of Wilder
The placement of a new manager like Dyche for success or others for youth development I have selected for my long overdue polls
or AS I WANTED for now
the temporary assignment of WARNOCK to come in
PLAY PLAYERS IN THEIR BEST POSITIONS WITH SANE TACTICS AND WIN and ENTERTAIN
and assess the players for retention, discard or fees of what follows after three disastrous seasons were all the money has been wasted by the IMBECILE
AGAIN

THIS CLUB IS ******* whilst Wilder remains.
We have had parachute payments for years and yet
'Wilder is a success for saving us from relegation'
from the worst ever second division.
INSANE!!!!!

I've got a migraine after trying to read that.

Also just to confirm I'm assuming Wilder didn't make you a brew after he drilled your Mrs??

I always find it a lazy view that Brooks in particular needs to be more consistent (despite being one of our consistent performers this season and by and large, someone who has made the team look better when playing than without). Yet this is rarely a a slight thrown at any other of our players.

Similarly someone like Seriki having “room for improvement”. Hasn’t pretty much every player on the planet got this tag attached to them?
Brooks has been more consistent this season but not to the levels you want to see for a top end Championship/PL performer is what I'm getting at.
He's still young enough though and the same can be said of any player making sure they are consistent enough. It's how you keep your footballing career moving forward or not stagnating.

But what I'm getting it is that with Brooks, if he can consistently be no lower than a 6 or 7 out of 10 most of the time then he is going to see his career move up trajectory wise. Hopefully with the club towing in the same direction. (Even if it doesn't for his own career its important)
Last season you'd see him look like a real player for 45 minutes and then the following 45 minutes (Perhaps another game) he would be largely anonymous. He also had less composure last season in front of goal resulting in a fair few misses. Seems to have improved that part of his game this season.

Seriki should hopefully learn from more experience but again where I'm looking at his improvement levels is being more positionally aware in the defensive half at times.
Baldock often covered for the RCB area. Sometimes when Tanganga is exposed it's because we've lost the ball in the right side of midfield and get caught flat. (Similar happens on the left but this season when McCallum was in he showed experience to bridge that gap)
Going forward too, sometimes Seriki looks like having another winger. His raw pace always causes trouble. But need more final product at times. Sometimes he just seems to try the same tick every time. (Slow the pace down to try and beat the left back and put a ball in)

And them we were gone, seconds later. The heads went down and we failed o recover. Again.
