The Pigs facilities are not anywhere near good enough required to gain CAT1 status.

You need a minimum of 4 full size pitches, full size out door astro and an indoor facility which is made of brick. Not the big fucking condom they claim is indoor !
How long would that take to build if they get promoted and get £180m next season?

Still a huge difference in how it was managed. Walker sold far too early and far too cheap. If he’d had another season with us he’d have gone for more like £8million. Awful business on our part.

Walker always looked the better of the two Kyles to me (not that Naughton was bad in anyway), physically built like a middleweight boxer and with the pace of an Olympic sprinter, I will never forget his run from our box, full length of the pitch, like Usain Bolt, whipping in that cross for Greg Halford to score against Preston North End in the play offs, 2008-2009.

It takes years of planning. Can't just happen in 12 months.
They need schooling facilities, more coaching staff of a required standard and a new site to build on.

I think it to Fleetwood 3 years to build new facilities

So, if the worst happens, we've got three years to get back into the championship and upgrade back to Cat 1.

If Wednesday go up they will no doubt nick our Academy coaching staff as we did theirs.

It all ifs and buts really.

SWFC is absolutely no where near getting CAT1 Status. Even if they go up, the infrastructure for them to achieve this is years away.

It makes me want to vomit when some pedantic twat starts talking about other clubs selling players, as though they sell in the same desperate manner that United do.

Even "Man Utd sold Ronaldo"
Even "Liverpool sold Suarez"
Even "Tottenham sold Bale" they say

As though those sales and subsequent purchases are anything similar to what Sheffield United do

Those players had a price which the buying clubs agreed otherwise they wouldn't have gone

Could you just imagine a conversation between the Man Utd President and the President of Real Madrid the likes of which probably takes place between every boardroom and ours

RM - We would like to buy Ronaldo, here's £80 million
MU - Errrr, ok, errr, how many of our players would you like for that, we can chuck in these four players as well...........Just to get some bodies in like.

RM - We just want Ronaldo you stupid fucking moron
MU - Really, WOW!!!, I'll tell him he's going then

RM President off the phone talking to his boardroom - WOW!!! that was easy

Ring Ring Ring Ring

RM - Hello
MU - Hello it's MU here
RM - What do you want
MU - Can we loan your worst two players for a season as part of the deal, just to get some bodies in
RM - Yes, if you like you fucking imbecile
MU- Thank you

Ring Ring Ring Ring

RM - Hello
MU - Hello it's MU again
RM - Now what ?
MU - Our fans are going crazy, season tickets are down, can we have another £50,000
RM - No
MU - Awwww go on, pleeeaase
RM - Go away you moron the deal is off

Three weeks later
Ring Ring Ring Ring

RM - Hell
MU - Hello it's MU again
RM - I told you the deal is off
MU - You can have him for £20 million, we're skint and need a new pitch and we've run out of bovril
RM - Errmm Ok

RM off the phone - Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha .........what a bunch of fucking idiots

Agreed. I knew for some time that Naughton wanted out that summer and made my peace with that on the grounds that we’d get a decent fee and we’d got a potentially got an even better replacement coming through. It felt like a proper kick in the bollocks when Walker was thrown into the deal as well.

He was the one bright spark in our play off final defeat looking most likely to make something happen even at right back. When spurs recalled him the following season it was like getting kicked in the bollocks again as it ended our season.
