I'm not crucifying him mate not by a long way, 20 mins in a game that's already won will learn him a great deal just like last night will have, totally agree with full game re learning. I like the kid an think he's gonna be a real handful later in his career.

One thing I’d say for those fans that just want us to ‘give the younguns a run out’ tonight probably showed the difference in level. Seriki struggled & Jebbison is raw, we’ll get the best results from the old guard. I worry that the owners will go down this path too & it’s not the right one

I agree to an extent, what I meant by my post was that we can rely on a squad of youth players because they look good in U23s. I think we could get away with 1 or 2 of them in the squad/ starting 11. Our most consistent players are the experienced ones (as it should be) we need the right blend.

I worry with lack of funds we’ll go down the route of academy players trying their best (like Hull)

After the goal we had at least 3 good chances to put the game to bed and did not take them .Fair dos to forest played really well and deserved to get something from the game as much as it hurts. i went with 4 points from the 2 games so just need to beat boro now

I doubt we have more than 6 youngsters who will be good enough for a Championship season in the next three years.

Personally I’d put my arm around his shoulder and say ‘maybe next time’ then I’d do plenty of training on that exact move and scenario again and again to develop a young player into become better at passing and decision making, I can’t see the point of bringing him through our academy to then crucify him we need to keep players who have been home grown well looked after and they’ll learn also in decades to come get their kids to go through our academy there’s a far bigger picture then a misplaced pass.

Firstly, noone is advocating 'throwing the kids in' recklessly. For all his proven record with giving youngsters a chance, Hecky has remained cautious on this front.

Now, squad numbers dictate they will get their chance.

Focusing on their mistakes, rather than what they contributed and the qualities they did bring, given their inexperience is incredibly shortsighted.

Too many experienced players not delivering the goods and the squad is nowhere near deep enough to cope with the injuries we have.
The summer will be a defining time for next season ...... if we don't invest in a quality striker, a midfield and a CH ..... we can write off next season as well
