Somehow I found myself at our city rivals today. I had a meeting there (work related).

The river level was climbing very high and a few officials were peering over on that bridge near the main stand as I walked in main reception.

Anyway the chap I was meeting who work there was on the other side of the ground but came and got me and to my surprise took me through the main stand and then round the side of the pitch over to some office near the club shop. I felt a little sick as I walked around. He asked me if I was a Wednesday fan. I said 'No I cant stand them. You are lucky I have even set foot in the ground!'

The ground is an absolute shit hole. They were fixing some leaky guttering and broken seats. It really is falling apart. I would say it felt odd to be in there empty but its like that most weeks.

I will do my best not to have any meetings there ever again.

I showered and scrubbed myself thoroughly when I got home.

It'll all depend on how it continues... I'm still in the office at work (round the corner from the Lane) bang next to the river and have never seen it so high.
Purely out of interest, cause I work round the corner from The Lane aswell, I had a look on your website to see where you are, you must be about 100 yards from where I used to work! (Phoenix Computers, at the front of Broadfield Business Park).

The good lord will forgive you Deadbat........ given time

Absolute chaos out there my 30 minute journey home has just taken 2hrs 40 minutes, the Don is about to over top at Meadowhall and Lady's bridge and more heavy rain is expected over night.

The match is going to be called off early tomorrow by the Police, dead cert :(

Gives us time to get the injured players fit then.

Anyway, it'll be on.

aaaaaaaaaand it's stopped raining

Hi there, supposed to be driving up for the match tomorrow night. Unfortunately I sold my Merc as moving to oz, so I'm in the wife's yaris (so to speak). Long way from godless MK for a night match... What are thoughts on chances of a game? My cousin in woodseats (a piggy) reckons its touch and go.

As others have said I dont think the pitch will be the issue really....if the rain continues and the roads around continue to have problems into tomorrow; then the police will call it off.

I would say there is a strong chance it will be off looking at London Road/Chesterfield Road currently and some of the areas not far from the Lane.

Might be wrong.

Can we have a report on how the meeting went and score the individual pigs who were there?

It stops raining at about 2pm tomorrow and then it's all sunshine and rainbows.

GAME ON!

(Self convinced...)

If the river levels stop rising and the flood warning is removed by midday then yes it will be on. If it isn't then it will be off.

All depends on how much more rain and run off from the hills over night

The only things getting tested tomorrow will be their keeper and our shooting. :)

Drop of rain and the world stops, snowflake and we get mass panic and H&S madness. Back in the day (and not too far back) players played on mud baths without a blade of grass present, played on frozen pitches with rubber studs and orange balls and nobody complained.
