Terrible Training Pitch and Match Reaction

Very candid about issues with training facilities and direct link to muscle injuries. Interesting to see if money is spent and that is genuinely sorted in the summer.

Not sure he addressed the huge number of times we were wide open and the link to tactics.
Letting in a few ‘soft goals’ wasn’t the problem as I saw it. That makes it sound like some one-off defensive errors. We were cut wide open incredibly easily time after time throughout the game.
Chose not to lay into anyone publicly though, which I agree with.

The training pitch was blamed for the high number of soft tissue injuries the interviewer specifically asked him about.
It wasn’t connected with any comment on the defeat.

He stated that the defeat was due to playing badly in every department: defence, attack, ball-retention etc.
 
He also says he thought we were evenly matched in the 1st half........not in my book. I do sometimes have questions about the managers subs and tactics.........There's 3 of em witnessing play on the sidelines though, you'd think between themselves they might be capable of seeing & changing things. Many of us watching the game picked out the main issue.
 
True. There’s no way we were evenly matched in the first half: we were lucky not to be 3 goals down at half time. His comments about our general standard of play were mostly correct though.

I have that scenario with the brother-in-law and his kids. No point explaining that beating Cambridge in League 1 is a bit different to losing at Coventry in the Championship, it involves too many variables to be understood properly.

Well done for having such knowledge. I just avoid pig family members unless absolutely unavoidable.
 
Training facilities rearing their ugly head again. Wilder made a big point of it. Hecky has just made a very clear point of it, akin to it being a joke. We should have sorted this out when we went up.
 
They may as well train at the lane at this point.

I agree that this coaching team seem very slow to notice and react to things on the pitch, particularly subs wise. But what could they do with the players we had on the bench today? Utd haven't had a decent CDM since McCall and he was well past it then and that was 20 years ago.

I have been banging on about it throughout the Nigel years. Even Wilder never bothered to address it. Its part of successful modern football but little old united think they know better and can do without one...

The only other mistake they are making is that I think they need to try Lopata in the CB role.
