Both Oldham and County played high tempo from the start and we struggled to cope with it until they ran out of steam. So maybe the secret to resolving our first half issue is to play at a high tempo from the off and then rely on our (generally) better ability to keep us ahead when we both tire?

Disagree. Whilst Oldham did, i thought Notts C stood off us and let us run out of ideas. They were confident in their defensive capabilities.

I do agree that we should start with a better tempo, but like boo radley said,County we're by no means playing at an high tempo,we were just crap and made County look better than what they are.

It really is frustrating to watch us play like that at home.Come on now Cloughy, take the game to the opposition,we don't ask for much, just a good honest workmanlike 90 minutes.Afterall they do get paid high sums of money in that alloted time, and us fans that pay the money out of our own free will i may add still deserve atleast the full amount of effort.I personally don't think we're getting it 'atm'.

Certainly we should play quicker passes and be sharper and get more men forward, but it would be madness to go full throttle right from the off. Football at every level is evenly matched for the first hour until the lesser team loses confidence, concentration and tires. Rarely do even the top teams set off like a train, if it doesn't come off it can drain your team and full attack leaves gaps on the break. What, we let goals in anyway, that's disgraceful really.

We're cautious for the first 60-70 mins so the tempo will be laboured.

We then start having a reight go after 70 mins whether it's too late by then or not :). Got to say it's consistent

I thought that County worked their socks off, particularly the front line. Our defenders and midfield players were regularly put under pressure, which is why the ball kept having to be passed backwards all the time, whereas their defenders and midfielders had time to pick their passes out for the first 60 minutes. Perhaps tempo was the wrong word, it was the way that they pushed on all over the field that I was referring to.
