I can't see Ched starting any time soon. In fact I doubt he even makes the bench if Brooks and Holmes are available.

I would start Duffy, Lafferty & Lundstram at the expense of Leonard, Stevens and Evans but keep the rest as it was.

We really do need those options from the bench though.

Need to be miles better in the middle, a Brooks or Holmes type would freshen us up, few more direct runs, put defences on the back foot. Hope they're fit.

I’m not saying that should be the team just that those are the options available if Wilder wanted to make sweeping changes / shake it up a bit.

Personally I think he will go with the same team or maybe just one change (Duffy for Leonard). He has done before after lambasting the performance and they’ve normally responded well.

If Brooks and Holmes were fittter it might be different though

Wouldn’t mind seeing a change of shape that wouldn’t be so dependent on the Full backs and overlapping centre backs. Something of a 433 or 4231. With Brookes (if fit) and Duffy and Holmes infront of Fleck and Evans or Lundstram.

He usually picks the same XI and gives them a chance to redeem themselves, it depends how much he was pissed off with certain individuals. Having said that, Lunny was probably unlucky to be dropped so I think the only changes are likely to be him and Duffy for Leonard and Evans.

I could live with that and at least it would put an end to all the " we're not going to change the way we play" nonesense which would be nice, because IT'S NOT FUCKING WORKING !

Steve Bruce changed the way Villa played three months ago and the've never looked back.

Being a successful football team is not , and never was, just about the players a club has available but also very much about how they are set up in order to maximise their abilities. So far , CW has been exceptionally good at this but in recent times it has not been the case for me and the time has surely now come to shake things up.

After Friday, it can't get any worse so what is there to lose ?
