Team v Reading maybe?

Fleck gotta play centrally with Evans or Lunny, Duffy in behind the front 2. Freeman could come in at LWB as Stevens looks a bit leggy of late. You could bring Jake Wright in for Bash who seems to be off it a bit recently but you always get 100% from Bash. I think Wilder will give em a chance to prove the other night was just a bad night

Of late Bash as looked much too frantic on the ball. Although you can’t fault his commitment, his ungainly style is uncomfortable to watch at times and his habit of hacking at ball doesn’t serve the team very well.

Brooks is going, Wilder's given up, everyone's shit, why bother let's just let Wilder go to a mid table Premier League team, sell whoever we can get money for, dissolve the club, knock the lane down and build some Chinese flats. Give all season ticket holders a tenner and an apology letter.

Good job he isn't then isn't it ......certainly not yet anyway

Too late, Alan Nixon said it so it’s definitely happening because he’s always right. Apart from on the large number of occasions when he isn’t.

A player cannot justify his selection by "always giving 100% effort" if the 100% he gives isn't good enough.
Basham sweats blood for the cause when defending (which the clappers love) , but I just sigh when he receives the ball from a teammate in attack , because that always spells the end of our forward progress.
In my mind's eye I often see him bearing down on the opposition goal , with their goalie stranded out of position and no defender near him , whereupon he either stumbles and knees the ball out of play or (more frustratingly) stops , turns around and tries to find a teammate to relieve him of the responsibility of deciding what to do with the ball , only for the attack to then peter out.
The more obvious it is what he should do , the less he is able to muster the initiative.
And yet ironically he's the one to get forward more than O'Connell.
It does my head in.

I shall be leaving early tomorrow to make sure the snow doesn't prevent me from getting to Reading to see the Blades put on a 5 star performance and come away with 3 points. I'm confident.

As for the team, Duffy has to be in from the start - that's critical for me.

Brooks has to be available, at least from the bench.

I'd also start Wilson up front - and possibly find a place for Holmes as well. Leonard probably wouldn't make the squad for me.

We've not really seen the best from our new signings yet.

________Blackman
Basham Stearman O’Connell
Freeman Lundstram Fleck Lafferty
________Holmes
______Brooks Evans

A few different options for change available.
Or will CW give them all another chance?
no baldock? that's ridiculous

Like to see us go 4-2-3-1 but I suspect Wilder will stick to his preferred 3-5-2

My side would be something like;

——————Blackman——————

Baldock Stearman O’Connell Stevens

—————Evans—Fleck—————

——-Brooks——Duffy—-Holmes——

—————— -Clarke———————

Ideally I’d have found space for a change up top but that 11 lacks height. Would need to bring Lundstram in for Evans to allow a smaller forward to play.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was the same starting 11 following Wilders comments, he wants a reaction, he should get one from those 11, they owe him....but of course this approach can obviously backfire massively!

Interesting that a lot of team selections are showing changes up top with either Billy or Leon or both missing out when CW said they were the only ones who came out of the Hull game with any credit...!

Leonard looks a shocking buy on the evidence to date, I genuinely thought he had been taken off at half-time he was so anonymous in the second-half....I only realized he was still on the pitch when he gave the ball away. Evans was similarly crap, although he has a bit of credit in the bank from previous performances. For all that Donaldson does when he gets on you may as well chuck Ched on, at least the lad will be keen to impress.....the competition for striking options is shocking at the moment, no-one seems to be pushing at all......which is the main reason Leon is still starting every game, (although granted, he does track back and puts a shift in defensively).

Tuesday's team for me, back to something like the Bouncing Day line up;

Blackman
Baldock
Basham
Stears
JOC
Stevens
Lunny
Fleck
Duffy
Clarke
Brooks (if fit)

Bit harsh on Billy who was brilliant against Leeds, Brooks will just give us something different.

Expect a lot of changes following hull. Expect the likes of Lundstrum, Duffy, Wilson to be back. I’d also put wright in there

Just incase anyone still wonders, Clarke/Sharp up front doesn't work.
Sharp/Don or Brooks/Clarke yes, but let's not keep flogging the dead horse, it's all soft and rotting now.

It worked fine earlier in the season

Nah. Da sings like a strangled cat

You doing Fulham?
Both of you?

That is decidedly unkind on cats, strangled or otherwise. I am to singing what Dean Hammond was to a swift counter attack.

Yup, I’ll be there at Fulham (sans Helen). We’ll both be at Reading tomorrow though. You?

Just on train on way back from London so no trip to Madstad for me.
Probably going to Fulham as already in London next Tues.
