I'd be tempted to start Lavery and bring 'Big Don @ Breakfast' on later.

I think he offers us summet different and he'll be itching to show the gaffer what he can do.

You're probably not far off with that prediction, Ricky.

My prediction is that we can expect our recent points haul to continue (Sunderland are wank).

I can only hope we get one of those things they have on the Men In Black film where they press it and people lose their memory. That way teams might forget that they've sussed our style of play out and it becomes effective again.

Rather see Slater or someone else on the bench than Carruthers who has had one chance too many for me.

I think if we get owt out of this game it would rival the pigs and Leeds matches for performance of the season.

Most important thing is we get through it with no more injuries and suspensions as the next propper match after is on the 12th of January and we need the strongest possible side to put out for that.

For that reason I would rest Fleck, Duffy, Donaldson and Leon for both Tomorow and the cup game.

Team for tomorrow

..............Blackman

Baldock. Stearman. JOC. Lafferty

Slater, Lundstrum, Basham, Thomas

.............. Lavery. Sharp

The team we want to play v Derby, or the team we think will play?

If it were up to me (which thankfully it isn't) I'd probably go with something similar to how we started at Hillsborough...

I think against the better teams or in the more difficult away games, we might need an extra man in midfield. Lafferty for Stevens, simply because Stevens probably needs a rest.

I expect Wilder to play Stevens and Stearman though.

I'd go along with that except for Fleck, he's well rested. 4-4-2 has got to be worth a try to plug the leaks in the defence.

Problem if he gets two yellows (always possible with his all action style) and sent of tomorrow it’s his second suspension and a two match ban. Would miss the cup tie and pigs game.

True to an extent. That tackle yesterday was almost a mirror of the one that got him banned. A split second either way with his timing and he would have been shown a red instead of a yellow.

I'd go with that Ricky, although I'd stick with Stevens at LWB...Definately Donaldson up with Clarke to give us a platform and get players in and around them...Fancy us to get a result,i know they're on a good run,but no need to fear them...Wasn't that impressed with them when they came to the Lane...No need to change our shape...2-1 Blades.

Not bad but in my opinion I'd put duffy just behind the front 2 of Clarke and Sharp and drop Lundstrum (Who I think needs a bit of a rest) and Basham hoovering up in front of the back 3. Laff and Baldock will still provide the width

It’s probably just my stupid sense of humour but this made me laugh.

The Neuralyzer. :D

Suggested the same (4-4-2) a couple of weeks ago when we started being easy for wank teams to beat. Got a bad reception. We're still easy for wank teams to beat. Might suggest it again in a couple of weeks when we're mid table and nothing has changed.

Try 4-4-F-2 at Ipswich.

Blackman

CCV Heneghan Wright Lafferty

Carruthers Lundstram Slater Thomas

Hanson Lavery

Then loan Heneghan and Thomas out.

4-4-2 keeps getting suggested as a way to shore us up defensively, but it actually means one less defender, a piss-weak central midfield, and playing Duffy out of his best position.

I'd keep it the same as yesterday but with Baldock in obviously, Thomas for Duffy, giving Duffy a rest and Donaldson in for Billy, with Billy to come on second half for Leon.

Interesting that no one even speaks of young Brooksy now?
What is the situation - genuinely tonsillitis or cotton wool prelude to sale 'itis'?

Is there any verification of the actual situation?
